Religious cleansing is threatening the world’s first Christian nation

Sept 3, 2023

Armenian Christians are facing a religious and cultural genocide — for the second time in a century.

A recent report issued by the former chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in The Hague urgently warned that neighboring Azerbaijan’s blockade of the only road connecting Armenia to the Nagorno-Karabakh region is preventing desperately needed food, medical supplies and other essentials from reaching the 120,000 people, mostly Christians, who live there.

“Starvation is the invisible genocide weapon,” the report states. “Without immediate dramatic change, this group of Armenians will be destroyed in a few weeks.” The report goes on to say that there is a “reasonable basis to believe that genocide is being committed against Armenians.”

This group of Christians is not months or years, but mere weeks away from extermination. The situation could not be more urgent, and both U.S. and international government officials must pressure Azerbaijan to end the blockade immediately so these much-needed supplies can reach Nagorno-Karabakh. This genocide must not be allowed to happen in plain view on our collective watch. READ MORE:

Radical Fulani kill over 150 Christians; 3 pastors among the slain in spate of attacks

Fulani terrorists in Plateau state, Nigeria, killed more than 150 Christians in the first three weeks of June, including a church pastor, sources said.

The killing of the Rev. Nichodemus Kim of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Gana-Ropp, Barkin Ladi County on June 11 brought to three the number of pastors slain in recent attacks in Plateau state.

“They attacked our villages of Bwoi and Chisu while we were sleeping at about 11 p.m. The herdsmen burned down our houses, including a church worship building of the COCIN and the offices of the COCIN Regional Council in Bwoi. Some of the Christian victims were burned alive in their houses as the herdsmen set fire to their houses.”

“All I can say is that war has been declared on Christians in Mangu,” Fwangje said. “The terrorists are just attacking and killing Christians in most of the communities around Mangu. The attacks started on June 20, in the Bwoi community, and then spread to Mangu town and Sabon Gari areas. Christians here really need help.”

Also on June 20, in Riyom County, herdsmen ambushed and killed six Christians in Rahoss-Sambak village as mourners transported the corpse of an accident victim to their village for burial, said area resident Christopher Pam.

“There was an accident involving a Christian villager from Rahoss-Sambak village,” Pam said. “Some members of our community had gone to convey the corpse of the victim back to the village for burial at about 7 p.m. when armed Muslim Fulanis ambushed them. Six of them were killed during the ambush

India: Christians beaten to death in wave of violence; Evangelical group issues call for peace

May 10, 2023

An Evangelical group in India is calling for peace after 58 Christians were killed, dozens of churches were burned and tens of thousands of Christians were forced to flee their homes due to ethnic violence in Manipur, a state in Northeast India that is home to more than 2.5 million people.

The violence has been attributed to ongoing conflicts between the predominantly Hindu Meitei ethnic community and Christians.

“We call for peace and an end to the violence and unrest in the region that has caused such devastating consequences and immense suffering to the people,” Lal added. “We urge the government to take immediate measures to restore peace and ensure the safety and security to all of its citizens.”

An article compiled by Scroll illustrates how these demands stem from a desire by the Meiteis to prevent “infiltration” of the urban areas by tribal groups. As a result of the attacks, nearly 10,000 Army troops have been deployed to the Indian state.

An image shared with CP reveals crowded conditions at a shelter that has absorbed those displaced as a result of the violence in Manipur. Scroll estimated that “over 13,000 people have been shifted to safe shelters set up by the Army and the state government” while “many others have fled to neighboring states of Mizoram, Meghalaya and Nagaland.” The Indian news outlet measured the death toll from the violence thus far at 58.

Pakistani Christians brace for more persecution under revised blasphemy law

In a recent move to make Pakistan’s so-called blasphemy laws stricter will make it easier to convict innocent people, including religious minorities, says a British Pakistani Christian organization.

“The additional hardening of laws will make it only easier to convict innocent people,” said Juliet Chowdhry, Trustee for the British Asian Christian Association.

The organization says that Christians suffer “severe persecution” in Pakistan, and any tightening of blasphemy laws are likely to impact them.

The laws already provide the death penalty for anyone who offends Islam. Now, Pakistan’s National Assembly raised the minimum prison sentence to 10 years for anyone who insults the wives, companions, and family members of the Prophet Mohammed. Formerly, the maximum was three years.

The amendment to article 298 of the penal code also provides for a 1 million rupee fine – about $4,500.

“The blasphemy laws of Pakistan have been a tool for discrimination and persecution since being Islamized in the 1980s,” Chowdhry said in a statement. “From 1860 when the British introduced the first blasphemy law till 1985, only 10 blasphemy cases were registered. However, from 1986-2015, 633 cases had been registered and in 2020 alone 199 cases, illustrating how the laws have been weaponized.”

Christians, she said, make up an “unhealthy percentage of blasphemy convicts and spend longer periods incarcerated than other victims of these draconian laws.”

[In photo above, Islamist activists carry placards in 2018 against Asia Bibi, a Pakistani Christian woman who recently had been released after spending eight years on death row for blasphemy.]

Need for safeguards
In comments emailed to Aleteia, Chowdhry said that if the blasphemy laws cannot be done away with – and that looks unlikely for the time being – safeguards should be put in place.

“While the laws continue to sharpen in favor of the extremists, we pursue changes to the existing system that allow the laws to be misused,” she said. “Police authorities arrest the accused on the merest accusation, often are bribed by Muslim leaders and generally allow their own bigotry to direct proceedings. It is disgraceful that police authorities across Pakistan still stand by and watch while Muslim mobs burn and loot Christian homes at an accusation of blasphemy.”

Gunmen in northeast Nigeria shot a pastor and killed his sons in one attack and killed a Christian engineering instructor in another this month, sources said

July 19, 2022

Near Mubi town in Islamic terrorist-plagued Adamawa state, assailants shot the Rev. Daniel Umaru on July 5, leaving him for dead after killing his sons, 19-year-old Kefrey Daniel and Fanye Daniel, 23, area sources said. The gunmen kidnapped his 13-year-old daughter, Ijagla, who was released on July 8 after the kidnappers received a ransom payment.

Pastor Umaru, of the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria (EYN), was recovering in a hospital, said area resident Aunty Adunni.

“He was shot and left to bleed to death,” Adunni told Morning Star News in a text message. “Both the wounded pastor and his wife, who became unconscious during the attack, were taken to the hospital.”

Christian man sentenced to death in Pakistan after rival accused him of 'blasphemy'

July 8, 2022

A Pakistani Christian man has been sentenced to death by hanging after being accused of blasphemy in 2017.

Ashfaq Masih, 34, was sentenced Monday by the Pakistani Session Court, according to the Centre for Legal Aid, Assistance and Settlement (CLAAS), an interdenominational organization working on behalf of persecuted Christians in Pakistan.

Masih, who owns a bike mechanic shop in Lahore, was quoted as saying the charges stem from an incident in June 2017 when a customer refused to pay him for a job.

In a not-guilty plea obtained by Chruch in Chains, Masih said the man "refused to give me money and said, 'I am a follower of Peer Fakhir [a Muslim ascetic] and don't ask for money from me.' I told him that I am a believer in Jesus Christ and I don't believe in Peer Fakhir and please give me my labour."

That man went and told Masih's rival bike shop owner, who accused Masih of blasphemy and filed a police report.

CLAAS Director Nasir Saeed said it is the second instance within 30 days where a Christian has been sentenced to death. The court upheld the death penalty of two Christian brothers, Amoon and Qaiser Ayub, on June 11.

The Jihadist Genocide of Christians in Nigeria Intensifies

What several international observers have for years characterized as a "pure genocide" of Christians in Nigeria has reached new levels.

"We have never seen an evil government in this country like the one of today. The government is fully in support of the bloodshed in Nigeria. We are being killed just because we are not Muslims. These evil Fulani jihadists are enjoying the backing of the government to go about killing people, destroying their houses and farmlands, yet when we try to defend ourselves, the government will go about arresting our people. What kind of justice is this?" — Rev. Jacob Kwashi, Anglican bishop, during a funeral for 17 murdered Christians,

There is an ongoing genocide in Southern Kaduna targeted at the indigenous Christians population.... Not a single church or school is left standing. Not a single herdsman has been apprehended all these years. It is unfortunate that the western media do not believe that our lives are worth any news."

"It's tough to tell Nigerian Christians this isn't a religious conflict since what they see are Fulani fighters clad entirely in black, chanting 'Allahu Akbar!' and screaming 'Death to Christians.

More than 60,000 Christians have either been murdered or abducted during raids. The abducted Christians have never returned to their homes and their loved ones believe them to be dead. In addition, in the same time frame, approximately 20,000 churches and Christian schools have been torched and destroyed.

"The atrocities of the Jihadists primarily directed at Christians... include: massacres, killings, mutilations, slitting of throats and wombs, beheadings, torture, maiming, abductions, hostage-taking, rape, girl-child defilements, forced marriages, disappearances, extortions, forceful conversions and destruction or burning of homes and sacred worship and learning centers as well as forceful occupation of farmlands, destruction and forceful harvesting of farm crops and other internationally prohibited acts...

"In the past twelve years... at least 17,500 churches and 2,000 Christian schools and other learning centers have been attacked by the Jihadists and destroyed in part or in whole, or burned or razed down. In the past seven months of 2021, for instance, the number of churches threatened or attacked and destroyed or burned down has risen to over 300....

North Korea Portrays Christians as Blood Sucking Monsters, Murderers and Spies to Deter Faith

10/1/21

It's no secret the North Korean regime has no tolerance for religion, but a recent report by the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) details how the Workers Party of Korea led by Kim Jong Un targets and tortures Christians and other people of faith while going to great lengths to conceal its crimes.

The report spells out the acts of terror committed by the regime "designed to remove all traces of Christianity" and reveals "the campaign to exterminate all Christian adherents and institutions...has been brutally effective."

North Korea's secret police, the Ministry of State Security, are incentivized with promotions when they apprehend Christians and other believers.

"Those charged with Christianity often face execution or are forced to live out the rest of their lives in political prison camps," testified Inje Hwang, an investigator with Korea Future Initiative.

"In schools, young children are taught that Christian missionaries are spies of the countries who seek opportunities to invade North Korea and they're shown graphic images of missionaries sucking the blood of children to show how malicious they are," said Suyeon Yoo, co-director of Korea Future Initiative. "And they are taken to state-run exhibition halls where religious adherents are presented as murderers, spies, and where Bibles are displayed as trophies taken from enemies of the state."

Pastor’s son shot dead by Nigeria’s civilian joint task force for attempting to stop church demolition

August 13, 2021

Christians in Nigeria’s Borno State are protesting the killing of a pastor’s son as he was trying to stop his church’s demolition by a government agency.

The victim, identified as Ezekiel Bitrus Tumba, was shot and killed last week allegedly by “security men” from the “civilian joint task force,” The 29-year-old man was killed last Thursday when he, along with other youth, attempted to stop the demolition of the Church of Brethren in Nigeria, or EYN, in the Hausa area in Borno State’s capital city of Maiduguri

The Anambra-based International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law estimated in May that as many as 1,470 Christians were killed in Nigeria during the first four months of 2021,

“The entire Christian community has been thrown into mourning mood as a brother, who was a breadwinner of his family, was sent to his early grave,” Naga added. On Sunday, congregants gathered around the ruins of the church to hold their weekly service.

“They demolished the building, thinking it is the Church. (But) the Church is forever unstoppable and indestructible.”

Fulani herders kill kidnapped pastor; behead father, 7-year-old son

July 31, 2021

Fulani herdsmen beheaded a Christian man and his 7-year-old son and killed a pastor they had kidnapped two weeks earlier in two separate attacks in northern Nigeria, according to reports.

Thomas Wollo, 46, and his 7-year-old son, Nggwe Thomas, were beheaded by herdsmen close to their home in Tafigana village in Plateau state’s Bassa Local Government Area as they were returning from choir practice at about 8:50 p.m. on Sunday.

In Kogi State last Thursday, the Rev. Danlami Yakwoi of the Evangelical Church Winning All died in captivity after being tortured by Fulani herdsmen, Morning Star News reported. Yakwoi had been kidnapped along with two of his sons and a nephew in Tawari area on July 12, church secretary Musa Shekwolo was quoted as saying.

The news of the pastor’s death came after one of his children who was kidnapped was released.

Yakwoi’s family paid a ransom for the release of his son, Shekwolo said.

ICC designates Fulani radicals as the fourth-deadliest terror group globally, which has surpassed the Boko Haram terrorist group as the greatest threat to Nigerian Christians.

Acquitted Christian Couple, Attorney Fear for their Lives

Islamic extremists in Pakistan call for their deaths.

June 15, 2021

A Christian couple acquitted by a high court in Pakistan fear for their lives as Islamic extremists have started a campaign calling for their murders ahead of their yet unconfirmed release from jail, sources said.

The Lahore High Court on June 3 overturned the 2014 conviction of Shagufta Kausar and husband Shafqat Emmanuel under Pakistan’s controversial blasphemy laws; they were accused of sending text messages allegedly disrespectful to Islam’s Prophet Muhammad. The couple’s appeal against their death sentence had been repeatedly adjourned by the high court over the last six years.

Supreme Court attorney Saif Ul Malook’s life is also threatened. Members of extremist religio-political parties have publicly called for “beheading the heads of Shagufta, Shafqat and myself,” Malook said.

ISIS issues warning to 'Christians of Egypt' as they execute a captured Coptic and two tribesmen with gunshots to the head

April 19, 2021

Nabil Habashi Salama, 62, a Coptic Christian, executed by ISIS's arm in Egypt. Video released Saturday shows militants standing over Salama before he is shot; Jihadist says killing is a 'warning to Christians' for supporting the Egyptian army

Nabil Habashi Salama, 62, a member of Egypt's minority Coptic Orthodox Church, was shown being shot in the back of the head in a video released Saturday.

In the footage, a militant with his face blurred, an AK-47 slung across his chest and index finger raised to the sky, warns the 'Christians of Egypt' that 'this is the price you pay for supporting the Egyptian army.'

He then raises the rifle and fires a single bullet into the back of Salama's head, while flanked by two others who are also clutching rifles.

Pastor’s Relatives Raped after Imam’s Wife Turns to Christ

Mosque leader threatens church leader, plans attack, sources say.

March 11, 2021

A mosque leader sent men to rape three female relatives of a church pastor in western Uganda because the imam’s wife put her faith in Christ, sources said.

The rape of Pastor Walina’s relatives was intended to cause shame and fear in the church and its leader, the church member said.

“One of the girls said that when they were surrounded before being raped, she heard one of the rapists saying, ‘Please do not harm them – we were sent only to bring embarrassment and a warning signal to the church,”

On Wednesday (March 10) Pastor Walina received a threatening text message from Imam Hussein, he said, which read: “I am giving you two weeks to send back my wife and children to me. If not, we are going to teach you a lesson that will make you regret for the rest of your life. Your church also stands at a high risk.”

“I do not know what they are planning to do,” Pastor Walina told Morning Star News. “We need prayers. I have reported the threats to the police who recently arrested Masereka. One thing that is clear to us as a church is that we are not going to reveal the whereabouts of our hiding sister, because we know that they are out to kill her and the children.”

Venezuelan Christians forced to eat pages of the Bible, have 'crosses' etched into their bodies

MARCH 02, 2021

At least four Christian men recently suffered serious injuries after they were stabbed, forced to eat pages of the Bible, and had “crosses” etched into their skin by eight hooded men, according to a persecution watchdog organization.

“The criminals covered our faces and started to beat and stab us,” a victim was quoted as saying. “They drew ‘X’ on our bodies and forced us to eat the Bible.”

While the four Christians have been discharged from the hospital, one of them remains in poor health due to two broken ribs and injuries to his lungs and head. Two others had casts put on their legs and arms.

“The cutting of crosses into the bodies of these young Christians, and the forced eating of pages of the Bible is deeply disturbing,” Dr. David Landrum, Open Doors UK’s director says.

'Urgent': Massacre of 700 Ethiopian Christians Points to Bigger Crisis as Refugees Flee Escalating Violence

1/25/2021

Up to two million Ethiopians are facing starvation amid intense fighting between the government and rebel groups in the northern part of that country. Fighting increased last week in the Tigray region, spurring reports of a bloody massacre at a church in the Ethiopian city of Aksum that killed over 700 people.

For more than 2,000 years, Ethiopians have believed their country holds one of the most sacred relics in all of Judeo-Christian history – the Ark of the Covenant. Tragedy struck last week as Ethiopian Christians gathered in Aksum to celebrate one of the most important holidays in Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity, the annual festival of Timkat.

Up to a thousand worshippers surrounded the ancient church which is said to house the Ark of the Covenant when Ethiopian troops approached and, according to eyewitnesses, opened fire. More than 700 Ethiopian Christians were said to have been killed.

A Global Calamity: 340,000,000 Christians Persecuted

January 17, 2021

Every day around the world, 13 Christians are killed for their faith; 12 are illegally arrested or imprisoned; 5 are abducted; and 12 churches or other Christian buildings are attacked.

These are among some of the disturbing findings of the recently released Open Doors' 2021 World Watch List

The "extreme persecution" that Christians experience in 10 of the absolute 12 worst nations comes from "Islamic oppression" or is occurring in Muslim majority nations. These include: Afghanistan (#2), Somalia (#3), Libya (#4), Pakistan (#5), Yemen (#7), Iran (#8), Nigeria (#9), Iraq (#11), and Syria (#12).

All in all, "More than 340 million Christians suffer high levels of persecution and discrimination for their faith." About 309 million of these Christians "suffer very high or extreme levels. That's one in 8 worldwide, 1 in 6 in Africa, 2 out of 5 in Asia, and 1 in 12 in Latin America." (Unless otherwise indicated, all quotes in this article are from the 2021 Open Doors World Watch List.)

For the reporting period covered by WWL-2021 (October 2019 - September 2020), "4,761 Christians were killed for their faith" — a 60% increase from last year (2,983). An additional 4,277 Christians were unjustly arrested, detained, or imprisoned; 1,710 were abducted for faith-related reasons; and 4,488 churches or Christian buildings were attacked.

For the twentieth year in a row, North Korea (#1) remained the worst nation:

"Being discovered as a Christian is a death sentence in North Korea. If you aren't killed instantly, you will be taken to a labor camp as a political criminal. These inhumane prisons have horrific conditions, and few believers make it out alive. Everyone in your family will share the same punishment. Kim Jong-un is reported to have expanded the system of prison camps, in which an estimated 50-70,000 Christians are currently imprisoned."

Among the worst, Afghanistan and Somalia, the "persecution is only very slightly less oppressive than in North Korea." In the rest, Christians face persecution ranging from being harassed, beat, raped, imprisoned, or slaughtered merely for being identified as Christian or attending church.

One of the kidnappers insisted the girl had willingly converted to Islam and married him. — British Pakistani Christian Association, Pakistan.

Christian woman beaten, forced to drink pesticide after husband finds Bibles

DECEMBER 21, 2020

A Muslim man in eastern Uganda, who said the Quran allows men to beat their wives if they disobey them, beat his 38-year-old wife, who is a mother of three, and forced her to drink pesticide after he found two Bibles in her suitcase, according to a report.

I was convicted and decided to embrace Christianity,” Nabirye was quoted as telling her husband. “My husband began reading verses in the Quran that allowed men to beat their wives if they disobey them, and after that he started beating me with slaps and sticks.”

“As if this was not enough, he forced me to take Dithane M-45,” a toxic pesticide.

She tried not to swallow the pesticide but ingested some while he was trying to strangle her and hitting her leg with sticks, she added
At the end of October, a Christian pastor was reportedly killed in northern Uganda after he compared Christianity and Islam during his radio broadcast. Pastor David Omara, the father of eight and pastor of Christian Church Center, was beaten and strangled around 9 p.m. on Oct. 31 after finishing a broadcast in the town of Aduku, his son, Simon Okut, said, according to Morning Star News.

Thousands of pastors go into hiding amid China’s rising persecution, attempts to eradicate Christianity

December 17th, 2020

Tens of thousands of house church pastors and evangelists across China have gone into hiding as the Communist Party prepares for what seems like a "final assault" on Christianity in an attempt to eradicate it from the country, according to missions group Asia Harvest.

In its final newsletter for 2020, Asia Harvest said pastors have disconnected from their phones and computers so that government authorities can no longer use those devices to track their movements. These pastors have also reportedly destroyed the microchips inside their ID cards so authorities cannot track their locations using those devices either.

“Each person in China must have an ID card. It is impossible for a person to catch a flight or train, open a bank account, get a job, or rent an apartment without using their card. Each ID card contains a computer chip which is also used to track people's movements,” the newsletter added.

While Asia Harvest declined The Christian Post's request for an interview, CP has reported on many of the key concerns regarding rising persecution that are mentioned in its newsletter, including the regime's attempts to "corrupt the Gospel" by rewriting biblical accounts.

One example of this is a communist textbook that's being used in Chinese schools that falsifies the biblical account found in John 8:3–11. The textbook claims that Jesus murdered the woman who was found in adultery and then referred to Himself as a sinner, too. READ MORE:

Pray for Eric Foley - Voice of the Martyrs:

Christian leader facing charges for launching Bibles into North Korea asks for prayers

NOVEMBER 27, 2020

Pastor Eric Foley of Voice of the Martyrs Korea has asked the international community of believers to pray as he awaits charges for launching Bible balloons into North Korea.

Last week, South Korean police recommended that prosecutors charge Foley, who has launched balloons carrying Bibles into North Korea for the last 15 years, on three counts.

“One count is related to the violation of an inter-Korean exchange law. This is a law that regulates commerce between North and South Korea; anything you might be trying to sell from South Korea to North Korea would need to be pre-approved by the government,” Foley explained.

The second charge relates to national security. “These are laws designed for natural disaster management,” Foley said, “but now they’re being related to balloon launching with a charge that our activity created a national threat to Korea.”

Kim Yo Jong — sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un — said balloon senders were "human scum" and threatened to scrap a no-hostility military pact and shut down the North-South liaison office, among other threats.

VOM Korea has so far sent 600,000 Bibles into North Korea by balloon and other methods. World Magazine notes that the Database Center for North Korean Human Rights found that in 2000, nearly 0% of North Koreans said they’d seen a Bible. However, just 16 years later, the number had risen to 8%.

As he awaits charges, Foley has asked Christians to pray that despite the crackdown, the Gospel will continue to reach those in the hermit kingdom, which is ranked as the worst persecutor of Christians in the world on Open Doors USA’s World Watch List.

“The prayer that God will bring glory to His name is already being met; people see that there’s something different about Christians,” he said. “The other prayer is that God would use each of the Bibles that we have for His purpose.

“God is finding ways to get Bibles into North Korea. We’re amazed at the avenues He’s opening. Please pray that continues. Pray that God is glorified.”

China bans copying of hymns, punishes Christians who print religious materials

October 17, 2020

China has been tightening restrictions on the distribution of religious materials in recent months by threatening fines, the closure of printing shops, or even imprisonment for selling Christian books or allowing customers to photocopy hymns.

Last month, Chen Yu, a Christian who operated his online bookstore in Zhejiang province’s Taizhou city, was sentenced to seven years in prison and fined 200,000 RMB ($29,450) for selling unapproved religious publications.

Police also reportedly launched a nationwide investigation to track down the bookstore’s customers through sale records and confiscate their purchased books.

Hatred Towards Jesus Followers – Horrendous:

 Genocide - Nigeria

The mass slaughter of Christians in Nigeria, which some international observers have classified as genocide, is reaching unprecedented levels.

According to an August 4 report, at least 171 Christians were slaughtered by Muslim Fulani herdsmen in the space roughly three weeks:

"And these are only those we know of. In reality, the toll is likely to be far higher. Many thousands are also being displaced by the violence from homes and such livelihoods as they had left after covid lockdown brought economic havoc.... Our news desk has been swamped by such stories for many months, yet this relentless and bloody toll of Christian lives is disturbingly absent from wider mainstream media."

In one of the recent raids, on July 10, Muslim herdsmen massacred 22 Christians — "mostly women and children" — and torched many homes in a farming community. "The Fulani came in and were shooting," recalled Bilkisu James from her hospital bed. "They killed two of my children [and husband]." They also "hacked another five of Bilkisu's relatives to death with machetes including a mother and her baby daughter and a mother and her two sons."

“You will be hated by all for My Name’s Sake”
Jihadi terrorists killing Christians in Mozambique seek to establish ‘government rule from 'Allah'

April 16th, 2020

Radical Islamic militants in the majority-Christian country of Mozambique have their eyes set on instituting Sharia law and have killed hundreds and displaced thousands in Southeast Africa.

Over the last two years, over 100,000 people have been displaced from their homes and farms in the northern province of Cabo Delgado due to increased massacres carried by terrorists. Affiliated Islamic State groups have wreaked havoc in sub-Saharan Africa, the Sinai, Libya, as well as Iraq and Syria.

According to the Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations, hundreds of villages have been burned or are now completely abandoned after jihadists carried out an “indiscriminate campaign of terror.”

Justice for Saleem Masih: tortured to death for being Christian

March 3, 2020

He was noticed by the property owner Sher Dogar, who along with other men rushed and dragged Sleem Masih out and started beating him mercilessly.

According to the father of the boy, Saleem was cursed and abused by the men. He was accused of polluting the water and was called “filthy Christian”.

Saleem was then dragged to a cattle farm, where his hands and feet were chained and continued with their torture. He was beaten with sticks and rods. Saleem suffered from multiple fractures in his left arm and ribs as a thick iron rod was rolled over his entire body. Saleem fell unconscious due to severe pain.

Saleem was then taken to the district hospital. He received initial treatment there. The Doctors then asked them to take the injured to General Hospital, Lahore. Saleem Masih lost his life on 28th February. He had suffered from severe internal injuries.

"They Came to Kill Him": The Persecution of Christians

February 16, 2020

"He was a 15-year-old adolescent. He was so deeply asleep in his bed that he didn't hear any of the noise around him. They thrust the blade of the axe so deeply into his skull, to the point we had to use a hammer to get it out of his head." Many Christians have been displaced by these ongoing attacks and live in "extreme misery," added another local: "This is beyond persecution. It is a dramatic situation, plunging thousands of families into a deplorable humanitarian crisis." READ MORE:

India: Hindu extremists beat Christian children during Sunday morning worship

February 10, 2020

Christians in Malasamudra village, Karnataka state had begun worship on Jan. 19 when about 20 radical Hindus came up the stairs to the terrace and began taking photos and videotaping them. Bellary and other women tried to stop the Hindu extremists from video recording the 12 children present, but were pushed away. When the Christians asked them to leave, the intruders put their hands on the women’s chests and pulled their sarees, tearing them, Bellary said.

“They punched my 15-year-old son in his stomach, and other kids also got hurt,” she told Morning Star News. “They were kicked to the floor and were beaten up on their backs. My uncle and husband tried hard to protect the women and children, but those men were very aggressive and physically stronger than us. The children just kept looking at us crying for help.

“If we hear that you stepped out of your homes and told anybody about this, we will set your homes on fire and will burn you alive,’” the assailants reportedly told the Christians. READ MORE:

"I saw those who were beheaded":

Cruelty to Animals Gets More Media Coverage than Beheaded Christians

January 26, 2020

The Bishops' Conference of Nigeria described the area as "killing fields", like the ones the Khmer Rouge created in Cambodia to exterminate the population.

In an era of round-the-clock information... the abominations suffered by Christians have been left without images, while the brutality against the Chinese pig was streamed all over. Christians are an endangered species; pigs are not.

there was the beheading of 11 Nigerian Christians during the recent Christmas celebration. The next day, a Catholic woman, Martha Bulus, was beheaded in the Nigerian state of Borno with her bridesmaids, five days before the wedding. Then there was a raid on the village of Gora-Gan in the Nigerian state of Kaduna, where terrorists shot anyone they met in the square where the evangelical community had gathered, killing two young Christian women. There was also a Christian student killed by Islamic extremists who recorded his execution. Then pastor Lawan Andimi, a local leader of the Christian Association of Nigeria, was beheaded.

"Every day", says Father Joseph Bature Fidelis, of the Diocese of Maiduguri, "Our brothers and sisters are slaughtered in the streets. Please help us not be silent in the face of this immense extermination that is taking place in silence".

Nigerian pastor who praised God in ransom video beheaded after refusing to deny Christ

January 21, 2019

A pastor who made headlines earlier this month for praising God in a ransom video has been executed by Boko Haram militants in Nigeria.

International human rights activists have condemned the killing of Rev. Lawan Andimi, the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria. Days later, Andimi was seen in a video released by his captors calling on fellow Christian leaders and state government officials to secure his release.

Despite the situation, Andimi said in the video that he was not discouraged because “all conditions that one finds himself is in the hand of God.”

“By the grace of God, I will be together with my wife and my children and all my colleagues,” he said. “If the opportunity has not been granted, maybe it is the will of God.”

On Monday, local sources disclosed to ministry partners in the United States that Andimi was murdered.

Africa: Genocidal Islamic persecution of Christians gaining traction as world remains mostly indifferent

DEC 15, 2019

“Christians are experiencing ‘genocidal, religious-based violence’ in many parts of Africa as Islamic terror groups gain greater traction on the continent, according to Save the Persecuted Christians, a U.S.-based charity.”

The West needs to come to terms with the fact that what is going on in Africa is “genocidal, religious-based violence, enacted against Christians by Sharia supremacist extremist groups,” said Dede Laugesen, executive director of Save the Persecuted Christians, in an interview published Wednesday with Crux, an international Catholic news outlet.

“They must also come to terms with the fact that the Islamic State has not been defeated but has merely moved to new territory in Africa and is a growing threat not only there but, if allowed to flourish, to the interests of the United States, Europe and the world,”

Laugesen underscored the importance of acknowledging the religious nature of the persecution, which is often dishonestly portrayed in the West as merely economic or ethnic in nature. A case in point is Nigeria, he said, where government-backed Fulani militants regularly kill Christians with impunity.

"Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers and sisters, were killed just as they had been.  Gunmen storm Church- 14 Murdered

December 2, 2019

Suspected Muslim extremists launched an attack on a church in eastern Burkina Faso on Sunday morning, killing at least 14 people and wounding several others, the government said.

The attack took place in a village near the border with Niger in the East region. After spraying bullets into the congregation during the Sunday service, the assailants fled on motorbikes. A security source told the outlet that armed individuals carried out the attack, "executing the faithful including the pastor and children.”

According to the Africa Center for Strategic Studies, such attacks have quadrupled over the last two years in Burkina Faso and left dozens dead this year alone. Additionally, an estimated 500,000 people have been forced from their homes amid the unrest, according to the United Nations.

Sunday’s massacre follows a series of attacks by radical Islamist insurgents against Christians in the embattled West African country. The country of 19 million is about two-thirds Muslim, with a Christian minority.

Cameroon: Bible translator murdered in his home as civil war rages on

October 24, 2019

A second Bible translator has been killed by suspected Fulani extremists in the civil war-ridden Anglophone region in southern Cameroon this week, a ministry source has confirmed.

Bible translator Benjamin Tem was murdered in his home in the Wum region Sunday night, reports Efi Tembon, a Cameroonian activist who heads a ministry called Oasis Network for Community Transformation.

According to Tembon, who met the victim while working on a translation project in 2013, Tem served as a Scripture engagement facilitator for the Aghem Bible Translation Project, which completed a New Testament translation in the Aghem language in 2016.

“He was attacked last night by people suspected to be pro-government Fulani herdsmen,” Tembon told friends on Facebook. “They butchered him and cut his throat.”

Tem’s death comes two months after fellow translator Angus Fung, who also served in the Aghem Bible Translation Project in Wum, was killed in a similar fashion in his home.

India: Christian woman hacked to death with ax in front of 3-year-old daughter

September 26, 2019

A Christian man in India says his relatives became so enraged that he converted to Christianity that they murdered his wife with an ax and attempted to kill his 3-year-old daughter.

Rohit Oraon, a 25-year-old from the remote village of Lukujhariya in eastern India, told Morning Star News that his family disapproved of his marriage to Parvati Devi, a woman who belonged to a lower-caste, and they began treating him as an outcast. The isolation and abuse he endured drove him toward Christians, where he felt accepted, he said.

The couple converted to Christianity in 2017, causing even more criticism. "My relatives were shocked at my prosperity. They hated to see me flourish in my job,” Rohit said. “An outcast, without family support, expelled from the village family with no one to help and support me, how could I be so happy and contented?”

On the evening of Aug. 27, the tension escalated. With the excuse that his home lights bothered neighbors, Rohit’s brother, Bandhan Ram Oraon, entered his home with an ax, followed by his father, uncles, and cousins. “Right in from of my eyes, I saw Bandhan hit Parvati with the ax, and I saw her dying helplessly,” he said. “I escaped from Bijla’s hands, but there was no use of going to Parvati because I could see that she was dead already. I escaped and hid behind a bush.”

“After they killed my wife, they called for all the Christians to come out, saying, ‘We will get rid of all of you, once and for all,’” he added.

"There Is No Christian Anymore in This Town"

Three men and one woman robbed, beat, and poisoned Sagheer Masih, a 35-year-old Christian auto-rickshaw driver. "He was well-mannered, polite and very friendly. Knowing he had the responsibility of taking care of three younger siblings... he ensured that he always got to work early and left late in order to gather as much money as he could to care for them.... Instead of killing him in on the spot, they forced him to drink poison and acid and left him there to die...."

Islamic Fulani gunmen massacred at least 95 Christians — including women and children. During their rampage in a Christian village, they set it ablaze before leaving; several of the slain were burned alive. "About 50 heavily armed men arrived on motorbikes and pickups," a survivor recalled. "They first surrounded the village and then attacked — anyone who tried to escape was killed.... No one was spared — women, children, elderly people." Security sources confirmed that the raiders also randomly killed domestic animals in the village. It was "virtually wiped out."

Islamic terrorists slaughtered 29 Christians over the course of two separate raids. The first took place on Sunday, June 9, in the town of Arbinda; 19 Christians were slaughtered. The next day, another ten Christians were murdered in a nearby town. An additional 11,000 Christians fled the region and were left displaced; they feared if they were to remain in their villages they would be next. "There is no Christian anymore in this town," said a local contact. He added that "It's proven that they [terrorists] were looking for Christians. Families who hide Christians are [also] killed. Arbinda had now lost in total no less than 100 people within six months."

22,000 missing in Boko Haram’s jihad, mostly children

September 15, 2019

While the persecution of Nigeria’s Christians by Fulani jihadists is approaching genocidal levels, Boko Haram is also waging jihad against Christian families, murdering them wantonly, separating families, and committing unspeakable abuses against innocent people; such news, however, is not regularly reported by the mainstream media and when it is, it is certainly not featured prominently.

Had the report been about 22,000 missing Muslims, mostly children, in a Christian country or in Israel, the world would be up in arms, as it should be. But why the difference in treatment of victims?

The jihadist uprising which started in 2009 has killed more than 27,000 people, displaced some two million, and spilt over into neighboring countries, sparking a dire humanitarian crisis.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said in a statement that the nearly 22,000 Nigerians constituted the highest number of missing persons registered with the organization in any country.

Some 60 percent of the total were minors at the time they went missing, meaning that thousands of parents do not know where their children are and if they are alive or dead, according to the Red Cross.

The Extinction of Christians in the Middle East

August 18, 2019

Convert, pay or die. Five years ago, that was the "choice" the Islamic State (ISIS) gave to Christians in Mosul, then Iraq's third-largest city: either embrace Islam, submit to a religious tax or face the sword. ISIS then marked Christian houses with the Arabic letter Ù† (N), the first letter of the Arabic word "Nasrani" ("Nazarene," or "Christian") . Christians could often take no more than the clothes on their back and flee a city that had been home to Christians for 1,700 years.

Two years ago, ISIS was defeated in Mosul and its Caliphate crushed. The extremists, however, had succeeded in "cleansing" the Christians. Before the rise of ISIS, there were more than 15,000 Christians there. In July 2019, the Catholic charity, Aid to the Church in Need, disclosed that only about 40 Christians have come back.

Christian, Yousef (the name has been changed), who fled in the night of August 6, 2014, just before ISIS arrived. "It was a real exodus", Yousef said.

"The road was black with people, I did not see either the beginning or the end of this procession. There were children were crying, families dragging small suitcases. Old men were on the shoulders of their sons. People were thirsty, it was very hot. We have lost all that we have built for life and nobody fought for us".

"We are on the precipice of catastrophe, and unless we act soon, within weeks, the tiny remnants of Christian communities in Iraq may be mostly eradicated by the genocide being committed against Christians in Iraq and Syria".

Nigeria: Genocide of Christians by jihadists becoming “a major global security concern”

AUG 6, 2019

The ongoing slaughter of Nigerian Christians by Muslim herders and terrorists is a powder keg waiting to explode, according to an essay Sunday by Christian persecution expert John L. Allen.

A recent report asserted that 52 lethal, anti-Christian attacks took place in Nigeria during the first six months of 2019, notes Mr. Allen, the author of the 2013 bestseller The Global War on Christians: Dispatches from the Front Lines of Anti-Christian Persecution.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian-based International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law declared that some 2,400 Christians were killed by the Fulani in 2018 alone. And Nigeria’s Daily Post reported last year that from June 2015 to June 2018, Fulani militants “killed 8,800 Christians and other non-Muslims,” torching “not less than 1,000″ churches and other places of worship during the same period.

“Sooner or later, the international community will be forced to recognize that the fate of Nigeria’s Christian population isn’t just a human rights issue,” Allen wrote Sunday, “but also a major global security concern.”

Kidnapped aid worker says Muslims killed Christian girl for refusing to renounce Christ

July 30, 2019

Jihadis from the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL)-linked Boko Haram killed a 16-year-old Christian schoolgirl in captivity for refusing to renounce her Christian faith and convert to Islam, a kidnapped aid worker claimed in a video released this week.

Grace Taku, an aid worker from the non-governmental organization (NGO) Action Against Hunger (ACF), blamed the death of the schoolgirl — Leah Sharibu — and another captive identified only as “Alice” on the Nigerian government’s failure to fight for her release. Taku herself was kidnapped along with five other ACF workers on July 18.

Muslim extremists in Syria torture, rape Christian woman for 9 hours before stoning her to death

July 18, 2019

Muslim extremists tortured and repeatedly raped a Christian woman for over nine hours before stoning her to death in the Syrian province of Idlib, a disturbing new report has revealed.

According to persecution watchdog International Concern, 60-year-old Suzan Der Kirkour, a gardener and Arabic teacher, was found dead on July 9 outside her village, located just north of the jihadist stronghold of Jisr Al-Shughour.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also reported the incident: “Her body was found with marks of torture on it. And according to forensic medicine, the woman had been tortured for about 9 hours before she was stoned to death by unidentified persons,” read the report.

The attackers are believed to be members of the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group, formerly affiliated with al Qaeda, which maintains a strong presence in the Idlib governorate.

Al-Yaqoubiyeh is a Christian village, but most of the women have left because of ongoing persecution at the hands of Muslim extremists. Suzan was one of the few Christians still living in the jihadist-held areas in northern Syria.

Mali: Muslims murder 95 Christians, “no one was spared – women, children, elderly people”

JUN 27, 2019

Once again Muslims murder Christians, and once again the world yawns and turns away. If there were a remote degree of sanity in the public discourse, governments and human rights organizations would be holding conferences on the Muslim persecution of Christians, instead of on “Islamophobia,” and working on realistic ways to protect Christians in vulnerable areas.

Continue to pray with Christians in West Africa’s Sahel region (which includes Mali, Burkina Faso, Chad and Niger). An attack in Mali has killed an estimated 95 people, including men, women and children—a third of the village. While there are conflicting reports on the death toll, major news outlets reported “officials say 95 people have been found dead.” A contact on the ground in Mali confirmed that all those who died were Christians.

On Sunday evening, June 9, Fulani Muslim militants fired shots and set fire to the central Mali village of Sobame Da, near Sanga in the Mopti region. Many of the bodies were found burned.

A survivor of the attacks who called himself Amadou Togo told the AFP news agency: “About 50 heavily armed men arrived on motorbikes and pickups. They first surrounded the village and then attacked–anyone who tried to escape was killed. No one was spared–women, children, elderly people.” According to a government statement, the attackers also killed animals and burned down houses.

The very sad truth:

American Church cares more about 'Game of Thrones' than murdered Christians: Open Doors CEO

JUNE 22, 2019

The head of a persecution watchdog has accused the American church of “whistling through the graveyard” of persecuted Christians and caring more about “college entrance scandals and ‘Game of Thrones’” than those systematically murdered for their faith.

In a blistering op-ed for USA Today, David Curry, president of Open Doors USA, warned that global persecution is worsening, yet Christians continue to “slumber” despite such atrocities.

In Nigeria, for example, 3,731 Christians were killed last year, Curry said, adding: “If such violence had occurred in Nashville, Tennessee, rather than Nigeria, it would dominate nightly news broadcasts and saturate social media feeds.”

“American churches would be launching fundraising campaigns for victims’ families and addressing it in their weekly gatherings,” he continued. “In this case, however, the American church has barely acknowledged it.”

the leadership of the American church, with its superpastors and megachurches, is whistling through the graveyard. The beast that we have created, which relies on upbeat music and positivity to attract donors to sustain large budgets, leaves little room for pastors to talk about the suffering of global Christians.”

“Inoculated by entertainment and self-absorption, they are completely detached from the experience of the global church. The American church is feeding itself to death while the worldwide church is being murdered,” he warned.

Burkina Faso: Muslims murder 19 Christians, injure 13 others — “There’s no Christian anymore in this town”

June 15, 2019

Dozens of armed unidentified gunmen killed at least 19 and injured 13 others in northern Burkina Faso on Sunday.

A local government official told AFP on the condition of anonymity that the attack occurred between 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and that 19 bodies were found at the time. The official said a search was underway to find others who were killed.

The killing in Arbinda comes as armed groups have spread across the Shael region and committed atrocities in Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso. The United Nations reports that the violence has led to the displacement of at least 4.2 million people, 1 million more than in 2018.

“There is no Christian anymore in this town [Arbinda],” an anonymous contact told the Christian aid charity Barnabus Fund. “It’s proven that they were looking for Christians. Families who hide Christians are killed. Arbinda had now lost a total of no less than 100 people within six months.”

Iraqi Christian burned alive by ISIS three times miraculously survives, sees Jesus in vision

June 2, 2019

An Iraqi Christian experienced a series of miracles while persecuted for his faith at the hands of Islamic extremists, including an encounter with Jesus and surviving terrorists’ attempts to burn him alive — three times.

The Yazidi man was interviewed for a documentary, "Heart and Hands: Iraq," by Sean Feucht, head of the non-profit Light A Candle Project, and Bethel Music. In it, Feucht travels the world to hear the stories of those persecuted for their faith.

In a preview of the documentary aired at the Heaven Come conference in LA, the Yazidi man reveals there was “pressure” from ISIS to convert to Islam. But amid persecution, Jesus appeared to him in a dream.

Later in the interview, the man revealed that once ISIS found out he was a follower of Christ, they began stoning him.

“They were hitting me with big rocks on my body,” he recalled. “The stones were fine, not affecting me.” The man said that after stoning him, ISIS members drenched him in 20 gallons of gasoline. But even though he was burned alive a total of three times, he said he somehow survived unharmed.

Genocide of Christians Reaches "Alarming Stage"

May 26, 2019

According to the BBC report, one in three people around the world suffer from religious persecution, with Christians being "the most persecuted religious group".

"Religion 'is at risk of disappearing' in some parts of the world," it noted, and "In some regions, the level and nature of persecution is arguably coming close to meeting the international definition of genocide, according to that adopted by the UN."
"The persecution of Christians is perhaps at its most virulent in the region of the birthplace of Christianity—the Middle East & North Africa."

"In countries such as Algeria, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Syria and Saudi Arabia the situation of Christians and other minorities has reached an alarming stage."

"The eradication of Christians and other minorities on pain of 'the sword' or other violent means was revealed to be the specific and stated objective of [Islamic] extremist groups in Syria, Iraq, Egypt, north-east Nigeria and the Philippines."

China in a persecution category 'all by itself;' USCIRF releases annual report

April 30, 2019

Persecution against believers in China was front and center as the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom released its 20th annual report Monday morning.

With photographs on the cover showing demonstrations against China’s imprisonment of thousands of Uighur Muslims, the bipartisan and independent commission mandated by Congress unveiled its 226-page report highlighting about 30 countries where religious freedom rights are being egregiously violated.

“They go after anybody of any faith that might compete with the communist, atheistic government of China for the loyalty of its citizens,” the 72-year-old Bauer warned. “It is deeply disturbing to see that ... China is an expanding power — a country getting more and more powerful by the year. To have a country with these ideas and this degree of persecution ought to be something that scares everyone.”

China: Police Loot Church, Bury Bibles, Detain Members as Persecution Escalates

April 22, 2019

Chinese authorities have launched yet another brutal attack on Christianity, looting the donations box of a church, buying Bibles, and detaining the senior pastor before shuttering the building.

The raid, led by the deputy governor of Zhecheng county and involving armed SWAT and anti-riot police, took place at True Jesus Church in Anping town.

According to Bitter Winter, 60 vehicles, surrounded the church with the police blocking off all the intersections leading the building. Authorities claimed that the church was in contact with foreign countries and was thus engaging in illegal activity. They ordered an immediate shut down by any means possible.

Anticipating the raid, 60 church members attempted to prevent authorities from entering the building by overturning benches at the entrance. Despite their efforts, 100 plainclothes officers stormed into the building, immediately broke into the donations box, and demanded to know where the church funds were held.

"As soon as they entered the church, they smashed the donation box and pocketed the money, which totaled thousands of RMB," said one member of the congregation. "They also questioned us about where all of our church's money was kept."

Muslim Fulani Herdsmen Massacre Christians after Baby Dedication in Nigeria

Mother of child killed, father in ICU.

April 18, 2019

Muslim Fulani herdsmen killed 17 Christians who had gathered after a baby dedication at a church in central Nigeria, including the mother of the child, sources said.

Safaratu John Kabiru Ali, the mother of the baby, was slain in the attack on Sunday (April 14) in Konshu-Numa village, in Nasarawa state’s Akwanga County, which also took the lives of people ranging in age from 10 to 80. The baby’s father, John Kabiru Ali, was shot and is in critical condition, sources said. He is receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi, in Nasarawa state.

The attack took place at about 7 p.m. as Christians in the predominantly Christian community gathered to eat after the child was dedicated that morning at the Ruhaniya Baptist Church in the village.

Report: "11 Christians Killed Every Day for Their Faith"

March 3, 2019

Last year, Christians were persecuted more than ever before in the modern era — and this year is expected to be worse: "4,136 Christians were killed for faith-related reasons," according to Open Doors USA in its recently published World Watch List 2019 (WWL) of the top 50 nations where Christians are persecuted. "On average, that's 11 Christians killed every day for their faith." Additionally, "2,625 Christians were detained without trial, arrested, sentenced and imprisoned" in 2018, and "1,266 churches or Christian buildings were attacked."

Whereas 215 million Christians faced persecution in 2018, 245 million will suffer in 2019, according to Open Doors — a 14% increase, that represents 30 million more people abused for their faith. This means that "1 in 9 Christians experience high levels of persecution worldwide" (note: all quotations in this article are from the WWL 2019).

Last year's WWL provided more specific numbers: "At least six women every day are raped, sexually harassed or forced into marriage to a Muslim man under the threat of death for their Christian faith..."

Another trend, one that should send an alarm, is that, "For the first time since the start of the World Watch List, India has entered the top 10" -- meaning Christians there are now experiencing "extreme persecution":

At Least 32 Christians killed as mob burns homes, church in Nigeria

March 2, 2019

At least 32 Christians were killed by suspected Fulani extremists in Nigeria Tuesday, sources told a leading Christian persecution monitoring group.

The early-morning attack occurred in the district of Maro in the Kaduna state of north-central Nigeria, according to reports. In addition to the loss of life, homes and at least one church were burned as hundreds were displaced. Some homes even reportedly had sleeping residents inside when they were lit on fire.

“We heard gunshots, and this forced me and my family to remain in our bedrooms as it was difficult for us to run out of the house,” the survivor was quoted as saying. “The Fulani gunmen surrounded our house and were shooting and shouting, ‘Allahu akbar [Allah is greater].’ They killed my father, mother, two brothers, and one of my sisters-in-law.”

"What is happening in Plateau state and other select states in Nigeria is pure genocide and must be stopped immediately," Christian Association of Nigeria and church denominational heads in Plateau State said in a joint press release. “Please pray for peace in Kaduna state — hundreds have been displaced and hundreds killed by the Fulani jihadists,”

Pakistan: Top court to decide whether to reverse Asia Bibi’s acquittal as Muslims demand her death

JAN 25, 2019

Asia Bibi was acquitted of blasphemy after spending eight years in prison on death row, but so many Muslims still want her dead that the Pakistani Supreme Court, bowing to the mob, is planning to reconsider her acquittal.

The 47-year-old mother-of-five, who was on death row for eight years, was accused by Muslim farm laborers of having insulted the Islamic prophet Muhammad, which is an offense punishable by death in Pakistan.

She was convicted despite denying the charges, and in October the Supreme Court overturned the guilty verdict. The decision sparked nationwide protests by Muslim hardliners, prompting authorities to take Bibi into hiding. Since her acquittal, she has since been living at a secret location, under guard.

Muslim extremists have threatened to kill anyone who supports Bibi, and in efforts to end the violence, authorities struck a deal with protesters. As part of the agreement, the Pakistani government pledged she would remain in the country until the Supreme Court reviews the petition against her acquittal.

Persecution in world’s two most-populous countries escalates to troubling levels

January 16th 2019

The 2019 Open Doors World Watch List reveals disturbing revelations for the world’s two most populous countries—India and China—which have seen a dramatic increase in the persecution against Christians. As they are each home to more than a billion people, even an incremental rise in persecution has an outsized, exponential impact in these countries.

In India, Hindu nationalists fueled a crackdown on Christians and churches, promoting the widespread oppression of religious minorities. The situation in India is volatile, and religious minorities in particular face extremely dangerous situations with mobs of violence breaking out and demanding death sentences.

The heightened power of the Chinese government is being wielded to remove any challenges to the absolute authority of President Xi Jinping, even if those challenges are related to personal faith in a god other than the State. New regulations and government crackdowns have made open worship increasingly risky, particularly in certain regions of the country. Pastor Wang Yi’s recent arrest along with some 150 Christians is a recent indicator of the expanding level of control and religious persecution.

Christian persecution expected to increase in 2019; believers facing 'modern-day jihad'

JANUARY 06, 2019

The persecution of Christians around the world is expected to increase in 2019, with a watchdog group sharing particular concern for believers in Nigeria, China, and India. Release International, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, said in a press release that 215 million believers face violence and discrimination for their faith.

The Communist government of China was also mentioned among the highest causes for concern, with new rules on regulating religion cracking down on churches, pastors and congregations throughout the country.

"The government wants to reduce Christianity to just a minor activity by unimportant older people," another Release partner warned.

In India, Release pointed to violent radical mobs that have stormed prayer meetings, ransacked churches, and beaten believers

‘Slaughtered like animals, burned to death’: pastors tell Nigerian President Buhari of massacres

Rev. Dacholom Datiri, president of the Church of Christ in Nigeria, said that he delivered a report to Buhari on November 6, describing the killing of 646 Christians in Plateau state alone between March and October of this year.

“The devastation in terms of massacre of lives and destruction of property is unimaginable. Pastors and members in their thousands have been killed in cold blood, either shot dead or slaughtered like animals or burned to death. Houses and businesses have been burned or looted and farmlands have been destroyed,” he said, speaking of the years of suffering the church has suffered.

Thousands of other Christians have been massacred in the country since the start of 2018, at the time that all the evidence, including the great disproportion in the number of Christians killed, and reports of churches being converted for Islamic purposes, show that the thousands of deaths are not simply the result of farmer-Fulani hersdsmen clashes.

For Survivor of Attack on Christians in Nigeria, a Lonely Christmas

After losing family, he' s still in hospital with bullet in his back.

December 21, 2018

Nearly three months after Muslim Fulani herdsmen in north-central Nigeria shot and killed his wife and four children, Samuel Wah will spend Christmas in his hospital bed, a bullet still lodged in his back.

Since the Oct. 3 attack on Ariri village, 12 miles east of Miango in Plateau state, that killed 19 Christians, the 45-year-old member of St. Williams Catholic Church has remained in the hospital with the bullet lodged near his spinal cord. Doctors at Enos Hospital in Miango are not equipped to remove it safely, and Wah lacks the resources to transfer to another hospital for the advanced surgery, he said.
“I forced myself to stand up while my wife was saying the gunmen are Fulani herdsmen,” he said. “I moved to the door of my living room and then opened it, only to find a Fulani man standing and aiming the gun towards where I was standing. He shot me.”

As he went down, Wah said, he heard the shooter call another armed Fulani over.

“They were speaking Fulfulde, and since I understand the language, I overheard what they were saying to each other,” he told Morning Star News. “After shooting me, the Fulani man then shot my wife and children. All of them were killed. They must have thought that I was dead too, and so moved out of my house.” READ MORE:

Two Christian brothers have been sentenced to death in Pakistan on blasphemy charges, the Centre for Legal Aid, Assistance and Settlement (CLAAS) announced today.

Qaisar and his wife Amina have three children, whilst Amoon is married to Huma, a teacher at Lahore Cathedral School. The allegations surfaced in 2011 when they were accused of posting disrespectful material on their website; however, the accused say that their website was not active since 2009.

The two brothers have been held in Jhelum District Jail since their arrest. Additional Session judge Javed Iqbal Bosal informed them of the sentence directly in the prison for security reasons….

100 Christians arrested; 3 tortured in ‘heinous evil’ raid by Chinese police: church

DECEMBER 11, 2018

Close to 100 Christian leaders and students were arrested on Sunday at a church in Chengdu, China, with a prayer letter claiming that three believers were tortured.

Persecution watchdog group China Aid said that among the arrested at Early Rain Covenant Church were Pastor Wang Yi and his wife, Jiang Rong, as well as Guo Hai and his wife, who were forced to leave their child unattended at home when they were taken into custody.

"Three brothers and sisters who have been released told us that they were [tortured] by police at the police station today and even stepped on their feet. One of the brothers was tied to his hands and feet at a late night and was detained all day, and the leg was tortured in multiple ways, and the body was injured with multiple injuries. These evils are heinous," the letter read in part.

Hindu Extremist Mob Tries to Burn Pastor Alive in Odisha State, India

Christian leader attacked while driving with family in car.

November 26, 2018

Pastor John Lakra was taking his 18-month-old baby to the hospital for emergency treatment in Odisha state, India when hundreds of Hindu extremists surrounded his car.

The pastor, his wife and their three children were on the way to the hospital in Sundargarh at about 7 p.m. on Oct. 23 when the mob began hurling stones at them and hitting the windows with rods as they shouted curses at him, he said.

“There were so many people that we could not even try get out there,” Pastor Lakra said. “We could not even see through the windows. My children and wife were crying. I did not know what to do.”
“Soon, they pulled me out of the car, slapped and beat me black and blue,” Pastor Lakra told Morning Star News. “They ripped off my clothes. Not a single part of my body was left unstruck.”

After throwing him onto the road and kicking him, they picked him up and forced him onto a motorcycle, he said. With hundreds following, they took him to a Durga idol and forced him to kneel before it even as they continued beating him, he said.

“Then they poured a gallon of petrol on me,” he said. “Right there, I was praying in my heart. I said, ‘Lord! I submit myself to you. May this bring Glory only to you.’ While I was praying, I was so moved by the Holy Spirit. There was so much pain that I have not done enough, that I must share about my Lord’s love to so many, my journey is not over yet. These words rumbled in my heart.”

Hindus shouted that he should be given as a live sacrifice to the goddess, the pastor said.

“After they poured petrol on me, miraculously there was a blackout [power out],” Pastor Lakra told Morning Star News. “And within minutes, police reached the spot and rescued me.”

‘God sheltered me’ before trip turned deadly

John Chau, who was killed in a hail of arrows as he illegally set foot on North Sentinel Island, believed he received divine help dodging authorities to reach isolated Indian tribe

24 November 2018

The young American, paddling his kayak toward a remote Indian island whose people have resisted the outside world for thousands of years, believed God was helping him dodge the authorities.

“God sheltered me and camouflaged me against the coast guard and the navy,” John Allen Chau wrote before he was killed last week on North Sentinel Island.

When a young boy tried to hit him with an arrow on his first day on the island, Chau swam back to the fishing boat he had arranged to wait for him offshore. The arrow, he wrote, hit a Bible he was carrying. Police say Chau knew that the Sentinelese resisted all contact by outsiders, firing arrows and spears at passing helicopters and killing fishermen who drift onto their shore. His notes, which were reported Thursday in Indian newspapers and confirmed by police, make clear he knew he might be killed.

“I DON’T WANT TO DIE,” wrote Chau, who appeared to want to bring Christianity to the islanders. “Would it be wiser to leave and let someone else to continue. No I don’t think so.” Indian authorities have been trying to figure out a way to recover Chau’s body after he was killed last week by islanders who apparently shot him with arrows and then buried his body on the beach.

The Pakistanis rally to demand death for Christian woman facing execution for blasphemy

13 Oct, 2018

Several thousand protesters hit the streets of Pakistan calling for the Christian woman accused of insulting Islam be put to death. Asia Bibi would become the first person executed for blasphemy if her appeal fails. The rallies came after Pakistan's Supreme Court heard the final appeal of Bibi, a Christian laborer accused of blasphemy against the Prophet Mohammed in 2009 by Muslim women she was working with in a field.

According to Bibi's autobiography ‘Blasphemy: A Memoir: Sentenced to Death Over a Cup of Water’ the incident began when she went to retrieve a cup of water from a well during a hot day of fruit picking. When a Muslim woman nearby saw her doing so she shouted, “Don't drink that water, it's haram (forbidden)!” She then turned to the other women in the field, telling them that Bibi had dirtied the water in the well by drinking from their cup.

“Now the water is unclear and we can't drink it! Because of her!” the woman said. Several women called Bibi a “filthy Christian” and told her to convert to Islam. “I’m not going to convert. I believe in my religion and in Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for the sins of mankind. What did your Prophet Mohammed ever do to save mankind? And why should it be me that converts instead of you?” Bibi said.

At that point, one woman spat on her while another shoved her. Days later, she was accused of blasphemy. Asia has been on Death Row for 8 years.

Muslims burn alive Christian pastor, his wife, and three of their children

August 30, 2018

Fulani Muslim militants launched raids on eight villages in central Nigeria this week, burning alive a Christian pastor along with his wife and three of their children.

In the village of Abonong in Plateau State, the Islamic raiders, armed with machetes and AK47 rifles, looted and destroyed 95 houses, along with farmland and three churches. They killed Pastor Adamu Gyang Wurim and his family by setting fire to their house while they were inside and shot the pastor’s wife in the bathroom. The assailants killed two other villagers as well, wounding several others.

A local lawyer, Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri, spoke with one of the three surviving children of the pastor, who was away at the University of Jos at the time of the attack and learned of it on Facebook.

“When I called a friend to find out about the situation, the report I received was very devastating,” the young man said. “I couldn’t believe that all my family members have been engulfed in the pogrom. On reaching home, I saw my daddy and younger ones burnt beyond recognition.”

“The three of us left don’t know what to do, especially now that we are still students who have nothing to hold on [to],” he said…..

Cameroon: Over 2,000 Killed, 170 Villages Burned as Military Seizes Churches

Aug 11, 2018

Over 2,000 people have been killed and 170 villages burned in English-speaking regions of Cameroon which has halted some Bible translation efforts, a Christian leader has warned.

Last month, the United Nations expressed concern that the violence against those communities has only "worsened considerably" since 2017 as there have been multiple reports of detention, torture, burning down of homes and excessive use of force by state forces.

The U.N. estimates that about 21,000 people have fled to neighboring countries, while 160,000 have been internally displaced by the violence. Many are hiding in the forest.

In a recent interview with Mission Network News, Efi Tembon, the executive director of the Cameroon Association for Bible Translation and Literacy, described the state of the country.

"More than 2,000 people have been killed so far since this started, and more than 170 villages have been burned, and more than 200,000 people are displaced, and more than 100,000 people are refugees in Nigeria," he said.

Additionally, Tembon said that the military has even killed some pastors and taken over churches to use them as military bases. Tembon said that there are 38 Bible language projects or projects helping communities with "scripture impact" that have been impacted by the violence. The violence has caused many of the 400 translators in the regions to be displaced. Many of them are hiding in forests and some have been killed.

International Community Ignores Genocide of Christians in Nigeria

July 8, 2018

In what the Christian Association of Nigeria is calling a "pure genocide," 238 more Christians were killed and churches desecrated by Muslims last week in the west African nation. This brings the death toll of Christians to more than 6,000 since the start of 2018.

According to a joint statement by the Christian Association, an umbrella group of various Christian denominations, "There is no doubt that the sole purpose of these attacks is aimed at ethnic cleansing, land grabbing and forceful ejection of the Christian natives from their ancestral land and heritage."

The statement adds that the majority of those 6,000 Christians massacred this year were "mostly children, women and the aged... What is happening in ... Nigeria is pure genocide and must be stopped immediately."

The details of the murder of these thousands, though seldom reported, are often grisly; many were either hacked to death or beheaded with machetes; others were burned alive (including inside locked churches or homes); and women are often sexually assaulted or raped before being slaughtered.

Middle East’s Christians are dwindling despite deep roots

Today, members of the faith make up only 4% of the region's population, down from 20% before WWI

July 8, 2018

Christians have been rooted in the Middle East as minority communities since the birth of the religion, but their numbers are dwindling amid conflict and jihadist attacks. Today they make up only four percent of the region’s population, down from 20% before the First World War, Cardinal Kurt Koch, president of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, said this month.

Pope Francis on Saturday voiced concern that Christians will eventually disappear from the region amid “murderous indifference” to their plight. Chaldean Christians numbered 1.5 million in Iraq before the 2003 fall of Saddam Hussein but their numbers have since plummeted to less than 500,000, according to Chaldean Patriarch Louis Raphael Sako, appointed cardinal by the pope in June.

According to the Chaldean bishop of Aleppo, Antoine Audo, half of Syria’s 1.5 million Christians have fled the country to escape the war. Churches have been damaged or destroyed since 2011 and large numbers of Christians have been murdered or abducted.

Secret Genocide of Christians Reported in Myanmar: Thousands Killed, Pregnant Women Raped

June 6, 2018

An investigative report has revealed that in isolated regions of Myanmar, which has been accused of carrying out a genocide against Rohingya Muslims, the Burmese military has also been ethnically cleansing the minority Christian Kachin people.

Sky News' investigative team managed to travel and document the situation in the remote Kachin state, where locals say that a "second genocidal campaign" is underway. The area is hidden from much of the world, as the Buddhist-majority Myanmar has denied journalists and aid agencies access to the region.

"I am convinced the Burmese government is trying to ethnically cleanse the Kachin people. Whenever they see Kachin people they try to kill us and they rape the women, even the women who are pregnant." said a mother of four by the name of Lashi Ókawn Ja.

"Maybe their actions against us are not so sudden as their violence against the Rohingya, but their intentions are just the same. They want to eliminate us," he said, Hundreds of thousands of believers are forced to live in camps for internally displaced people, depraved of food and healthcare.

Open Doors has also warned that radical Buddhist movements, such as the Ma Ba Tha, often target followers of Christ, with local governments showing bias toward Buddhist leaders, and discrimination against Christians.

Boko Haram Burned Pastor's Dad Alive for Choosing Bible Over Quran

May 21, 2018

Segun and his wife, who were originally from the a Christian-majority area of southwest Nigeria, operated a ministry called Victorious Life Assembly, which not only ran a church but also operated a school, orphanage and widows ministry.

Although the ministry originally began in southwest Nigeria, Segun and his family made the decision to move the ministry to the troubled northern part of Nigeria that has been plagued by violence in recent years even though they knew the risks they would be taking.

Segun told the newspaper that the day after he, his wife and their four children left their home to go to a convention where Segun was scheduled to be a speaker, Boko Haram militants arrived at their home. Although Segun's mother was able to escape, his father was not as fortunate.

Militants reportedly questioned Segun's father about where he was. The father told them that his son had gone to the church. After the militants couldn't find Segun at the church, they reportedly burned it down and killed the church's assistant pastor.

Segun stated that the militants went back to his father and allegedly placed a Bible and a Quran in front of him and told him to choose one. Segun said that after his father chose the Bible, the militants doused him in gasoline and burned him to death.

"If they had destroyed everything I owned, that would have meant nothing to me," Segun contended. "But my father, he loved Jesus, he taught me to be strong.

"My friend encouraged me that, 'Your father stood with Christ in the end." Segun said he had lost everything he had labored for over 18 years to achieve.

Christian Victims of Gang Rapes, Forced Marriages in Pakistan Cry Out for Justice

March 9, 2018

A persecution watchdog group is seeking justice for scores of Christian women and girls in Pakistan who've been raped and sexually abused.

The British Pakistani Christian Association on Thursday highlighted a number of cases where Christians girls have also been taken in forced marriages by Muslims, such as 12-year-old Elisha, who was recently returned to her parents.

"These sexual assaults are an offence against the entire Christian community. Not only are these women told to remain silent about such intimate atrocities but Christian communities are also expected to allow these predators to spirit away their daughters, sisters, wives and mothers as if the rapists are doing them some sort of a favor," BPCA declared.

Kenya: Muslims murder three Christians - scream “these infidels should be wiped out”

FEB 27, 2018

Suspected members of Islamic jihad group Al Shabaab shot three Christians to death in northeastern Kenya after bursting into their sleeping quarters at a primary school. Murdering Christians is a common activity for these jihadis, for the reason indicated by one of the murderers, who said: “These infidels should be wiped out.”

Islamic jihadis have already wiped out Christians to a great degree in the Middle East, and the aim is to do the same in Africa. With the open borders policies implemented by irresponsible policymakers, the jihad has not remained in those locations, but has expanded into the Western Hemisphere.

It was reported in September 2016 that Mexico was helping bring a flood of unvetted African Muslim migrants to Mexican cities, bordering the U.S. border, many of which were from the Al-Shabaab jihadi hotbed….

Nigeria: Muslims wipe out 15 villages in mass slaughter of Christians, government does nothing

FEB 19, 2018

ARMED men stormed through 15 villages to massacre Christians and destroy their churches in a violent crackdown against the religion in Nigeria. Dozens of people have been killed after the gangs ransacked towns and villages to clear them of all aspects of the Christian faith.

Houses belonging to believers have also been razed with authorities doing little to help, an anti-persecution watchdog claimed. Open Doors spoke to one Christian who described the broad daylight attack carried out by a group of Fulani – one of Africa’s largest ethnicities.

A spokeswoman said: “One attack took place in broad daylight, as people were about to go to church. The assailants chased and killed the villagers and burned down nine churches and many more houses.”

Christian persecution is a major problem in Nigeria which has been exacerbated by the spread of radical Islamic teaching and practice.

Islamic Republic of Iran: Christians appeal convictions for “conducting evangelism”

FEB 6, 2018

Iran is known for its human rights abuses and harsh treatment of Christians, whom it claims to be “’threatening national security,’ either for converting people or for attending house churches.

All the while, UN “experts” and spokespersons pay lip service to Iran’s human rights abuses, but take no action. If it ever took Muslim persecution of Christians seriously, the UN would have its hands full. Over 200 million Christians worldwide are facing severe persecution, and 12 out of 14 of the top persecuting countries are Muslim countries.

Three Iranian Christians are due to appear before Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Court on February 4 to appeal against their 2017 convictions on charges of “conducting evangelism” and carrying out “illegal church activities.”

Pastor Victor Bet Tamraz, Amin Afshar Naderi, and Hadi Asgari each received a provisional sentence of 10 years in prison for the charges filed against them. The Islamic judges also imposed an additional five-year prison sentence against Naderi on a charge of blasphemy.

The Revolutionary Court has the power to end the case, confirm the sentences, or refer the case to Iran’s Supreme Court. Iran’s secretive Revolutionary Court system was established after the 1979 Islamic Revolution to try suspected ideological opponents of the country’s Islamic rulers. It operates without juries, without defense lawyers, and often without evidence except confessions extracted through torture.

“We are aware of several other reported cases in which members of the Christian minority have received heavy sentences after being charged with ‘threatening national security,’ either for converting people or for attending house churches. This shows a disturbing pattern of individuals being targeted because of their religion or beliefs, in this case a religious minority in the country,” they said.

https://www.jihadwatch.org/2018/02/islamic-republic-of-iran-christians-appeal-convictions-for-conducting-evangelism

“When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. And they cried with a loud voice, saying, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?" Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed.”

80 Nigerian Christians Slaughtered in 'Inhuman' Violence; Victims Describe Being Hacked by Machetes

January 23, 2018

More than 80 Nigerian Christians have been slaughtered at the hands of radical Islamic herdsmen this month, with major Christian groups decrying the "inhuman" violence, as survivors describe what it felt like to be hacked by machetes. The shooting and machete attacks have been carried out by Fulani herdsmen, nomadic Muslims who graze their cattle throughout the country, and for the past couple of years have been targeting Christian farmers who stand in their way.

'Prayer Warrior' Pastor Tortured, Then Hung to Death in Church; Congregation Terrified

Jan 22, 2018

A pastor in India who was known for long five- to six-hour prayer sessions was found beaten, tortured and hung to death from the rafters of his church, parishioners said. The murder has deeply shocked the congregation. Morning Star News reported on Sunday that the body of pastor Gideon Periyaswamy of Maknayeem Church in southern India was found early Saturday morning. His death comes after he had complained about Hindu extremists.

Pastor Azariah Reuben, a close friend of the 43-year-old victim, said that Periyaswamy converted from Hinduism 25 years ago, and has served as pastor in Adayachery for more than 12 years, becoming known as a "prayer warrior."

"The local Hindus were not happy with growing Christianity," Reuben said. "They had several times tried to stop the ministry." A week before he was killed, the pastor had filed a complaint with local police "on some village people troubling him." Officials were reportedly investigating the incident before the pastor was found dead. Periyaswamy's body displayed signs of being beaten and tortured, according to some members of his 70-strong congregation.

A Presbyterian pastor languishes in a Turkish prison

January 11, 2018

For most pastors, the beginning of a new year is filled with the promise of youth programs, baptisms, and marriages. Instead, Pastor Andrew Brunson — Presbyterian cleric in Turkey, American citizen, and pawn in an international game of hostage diplomacy — is spending it in a Turkish jail. Since he was detained in October 2016, his life has been arbitrarily suspended.

Representing the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, we met with Brunson in Kiriklar Prison on Oct. 5, near the city of Izmir. Only relatives or embassy officials are allowed to visit. We are the only other Americans to have seen him.
It is reprehensible that Turkey chose to arrest an American Christian cleric who for more than two decades was fulfilling his religious duties by serving his congregants and others in need. In today’s Turkey, however, it seems your rights disappear when secret allegations are whispered.

Brunson initially was held with more than 20 other men in a cell built to accommodate 8 people. He now is in a cell with two others, but he is the only American, the only English speaker, and the only Christian in the prison. He lives in a world of physical isolation and psychological dislocation.

China Demolishes Evangelical Mega-church

Demolition underscores the long-standing tensions between religious groups and the officially atheistic Communist Party

ChinaAid, a U.S.-based Christian advocacy group, said local authorities planted explosives in an underground worship hall to demolish the building, which was built with nearly $3 million in contributions from local worshippers in one of China’s poorest regions.

The church, with a congregation of more than 50,000, has long clashed with the government. Hundreds of police and hired thugs smashed the church and seized Bibles in an earlier crackdown in 2009 that ended with church leaders receiving long prison sentences.

A local pastor at a nearby church, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said he saw large numbers of paramilitary police on Tuesday blanketing the area around the church, which was being taken apart by heavy machinery.

The state-run Global Times newspaper, citing an unidentified local official, reported Wednesday the official reason for the demolition was that it did not hold the necessary permits. Religious groups must register with local religious affairs authorities under Chinese law, the report said. The church was illegally constructed nearly a decade ago in violation of building codes, it said.

Jan 10, 2018

As many as 215 million followers of Christ around the world are being persecuted because of their faith, according to Open Doors USA's annual World Watch List, which was released Wednesday. The report identified the top 50 nations where Christians are most targeted.

"It's easy to move through life disconnected from what happens to believers in other parts of the world. But this report helps us close the gap between us," said David Curry, CEO of Open Doors, in the full report.

"After all, the World Watch List isn't about the numbers, but the people these numbers represent. I hope you see their stories of victory and resilience, and—more than anything—I hope you see the powerful Kingdom work God is accomplishing in some of the most difficult countries in the world."

In total, Open Doors found that 3,066 Christians were killed last year. Also, 1,252 Christians were abducted, 1,1020 were raped or sexually harassed, and 793 churches were attacked.

Suicide bombers attack Pakistan church, killing 8 people, officials say

Eight people were killed and dozens of others were wounded on Sunday when two suicide bombers attacked a church in Pakistan where hundreds of worshippers were attending service ahead of Christmas, officials said.

One of the suicide bombers was shot dead outside Bethel Memorial Methodist Church in Quetta, but the other assailant made it to the church's entrance hall as Sunday services opened, said Sarfaraz Bugti, home minister for the southwestern Baluchistan province. The gunman — who didn’t gain access to the main building — opened fire at the churchgoers before detonating his explosive vest.

“There were nearly 400 people inside the church, but the attackers couldn’t get inside the services,” provincial police chief Moazzam Jah told Reuters. “We killed one of them, and the other one exploded himself after police wounded him,” he said.

Eight people, including two women, were killed in the attack. Five women and two children were among the 45 people hurt.

The U.K. based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported Sunday that ISIS mass executed at least 128 civilians as part of reprisals in the Syrian Christian town of Qaryatain which was under ISIS control for three weeks before being retaken by the Syrian army on Saturday.

"After the regime retook it [on Saturday], the town's residents found the bodies on the streets. They had been shot dead or executed with knives. Most of the IS fighters who attacked the town a month ago were sleeper cells. They are from the town, know the town's residents and who is for or against the regime."" Police in Pakistan Beat to Death 14 Y/O Christian Boy Who Refused to Renounce His Faith

October 13, 2017

Police in Pakistan beat a 14-year-old Christian boy to death on Monday (Oct. 9) because he had gotten into a fight with a Muslim classmate who tried to bully him into renouncing his faith, sources said.

Mushtaq Masih, father of Arsalan Masih, said that his son was a student at a private center in Jhabran Mandi village, Sheikhupura District in Punjab Province. Arsalan was at the center when seven policemen from the Bahu Chowk Police Post arrived at about 5 p.m. in their official vehicle and stormed the premises, Masih told Morning Star News.

"Arsalan was attending his tuition classes at the Ideal Science Academy when Head Constable Imtiaz, Driver Rashid, Constable Arshad and some other unidentified policemen kicked open the door and dragged him out of the classroom," Masih said. "Sardar, alias Billu, a police constable, helped them to identify the boy. With this, they all started beating Arsalan with fists, kicks and rifle butts."

Revelation 6:9-11:

“When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. And they cried with a loud voice, saying, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?" Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed.”

The Last Christians: Priest Describes Horror, Courage of Christians Being Killed for Their Faith (Interview)

Oct 12, 2017

"In Mosul, IS terrorists stopped a boy in the street because he was wearing a small cross around his neck. They ordered him to throw it away, and when he steadfastly refused, they buried him alive," Knapp wrote in his newly released book, The Last Christians: Stories of Persecution, Flight, and Resilience in the Middle East.

"Whenever I hear stories like this and meet Christians of such courage, I can't help but wonder: How much is my faith worth to me? How high a price would I be prepared to pay?" The story is only one of the countless tragedies Knapp witnessed or heard about from survivors and church and human rights workers when traveling to Iraq to speak with Christians who are being wiped out for their faith.

Churches in Mosul were bombed, Christian schools were threatened with destruction unless the students converted to Islam, 5-year-old children were shot dead on their way to mass, and Christian girls were raped for refusing to wear veils, the author described. Now with the rise of IS, thousands of Yazidi and Christian women and young girls are being sold in modern-day slave markets.

Accounts tell of young women being raped for days by dozens of men, begging to be killed in order for the torture to stop, but only to be met with laughter and cynical remarks. One Christian girl who suffered "bestial abuse" at the hands of IS took rat poison to end her life, suffering a long, drawn-out death.

Other stories, such as one from the ancient Christian town of Sadat, tell of 45 men, women and children who were tortured, killed, and buried in a mass grave by radicals. Some of the young men were taken prisoners, but those who refused to renounce their faith and embrace Islam where shot dead.

Libya's interior ministry has said they have found a mass grave with the bodies of the 21 Coptic Christians who were beheaded by the Islamic State two years ago. The remains have been sent for forensic examination.

"The heads are separated from the bodies clad in orange jumpsuits, hands bound behind the back with plastic wire," said the ministry's unit for fighting organized crime in the city of Misurata.

11 'Mostly Children and Elderly' Killed, 18 Injured in Bloody Massacre at Nigerian Church

August 7, 2017

In an attack Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned as "unspeakable sacrilege," an early morning mass at St. Philip's Catholic Church in Ozubulu was turned into a bloody massacre on Sunday as gunmen entered the church and fatally shot at least 11 people and injured 18 others. Some local outlets such as Vanguard report that "no fewer than 35 worshippers" were killed.

According to the Vanguard, the gunmen arrived at the church in a Lexus SUV and one of them shot at close range an elderly man, identified as Pa Ikegwuonu. Pa is the father of Chief Aloysius Ikegwuonu, a businessman from Amakwa, who funded the building of the church. Multiple videos and images online show haunting images of the lifeless bodies of churchgoers piled in the back of a truck. A variety of sandals were also shown stuck to the blood-splattered floor of the church.

"Those who died are mostly children and the elderly, I know about three children who were below five years that died in the shooting," Justice said.

Al-Shabaab Slaughters 7 Christians in Door-to-Door ID Checks in Kenyan Villages

Jul 25, 2017

Somali-based terror group al-Shabaab killed seven Christians in a series of deadly raids in Kenya earlier this month where the Islamic radicals went door-to-door in villages looking for believers. Previous reports noted that the militants beheaded nine civilians in Jima in Lamu County in their hunt for non-Muslims, though more information is being released now about the victims. A local pastor said the radicals have been searching for Christians to kill.

"[The militants in Jima] were asking the villagers to produce their identification cards and if you were found to be a Christian you would be shot or slaughtered."

10-Y-O Survivor of ISIS Massacre: 'Every Time They Shot a Christian, They Yelled God Is Great'

Jun 20, 2017

A 10-year-old Egyptian schoolboy who witnessed the brutal murder of his father by Islamic State militants in Minya, where 29 Christians were slaughtered in May, says the jihadists cried out "God is great" every time they shot a follower of Jesus Christ. Mina Habib told Reuters in a piece published Tuesday that his father, one of the 29 believers massacred on May 26 when IS stopped three vehicles on their way to a monastery, was killed specifically for his Christian faith.

"We saw dead people, just dumped on the ground," the boy, who is now receiving therapy at a local church, said of the attack. "They asked my father for identification then told him to recite the Muslim profession of faith. He refused, said he was Christian. They shot him and everyone else with us in the car," he said of his father, Adel. Mina said the 15 gunmen shot Christian children dead, but he and his older brother, Marco, were spared.

Church, Pastor Home Torched as Attacks on Christians Rise 40% in Southern India

May 21, 2017

After some high "caste" Hindus converted to Christianity and joined the Church, other Hindus burned down the place of worship and the home of its pastor in southern India this month.

Pastor John Muller and his pregnant wife found their church building and adjoining home in Attipattu village in Tamil Nadu state's Cuddalore District burnt down after they said they came home from a nearby store, according to Morning Star News.

"Recently, some villagers belonging to Vanniyar, a caste-based Hindu sect, came to Christ," Muller told Morning Star. "The same caste group opposes conversions in the village because they treat Christianity as a religion of lower castes. They don't want anyone from Vanniyar to convert to Christianity."

Muller said he and his wife lost all their possessions. "My wife is 26 weeks pregnant. We are expecting our first child. We are homeless. A kind believer is letting us rest in his house during nights for now."

A recent All India Christian Council report exposed that violent attacks on the Christian minority in India are mounting at an alarming rate, as members of groups close to the governing Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party seek to create a "Hindu nation." The report stated attacks against Christians increased by about 20 percent in 2016, and physical violence against Christians was up by as much as 40 percent.

A fresh attack is being reported every 40 hours, the report outlined. "The attacks have become severe and more frequent. Incidents used to be confined to a few states. Now the violence has spread to 23 states," the report noted.

Pakistan Sentences Christian Man to Life in Prison for 'Insulting Islam'

May 6, 2017

A court in Pakistan has sentenced a Christian man to life imprisonment under the country's blasphemy law for allegedly sending "blasphemous" text messages from his mobile phone.

The Center for Research and Security Studies in Pakistan estimates that at least 65 people have been killed over blasphemy allegations since 1990, and dozens more convicted of the crime are on death row.

Meanwhile, in a more high-profile case, Asia Bibi, a Christian mother of five who was sentenced to death in 2010 on accusations of blasphemy, is awaiting appeal proceedings to begin. In June 2009 while picking berries with a group of Muslim women in the town of Sheikhupura in the Punjab province, the women got upset that she drank from the same water bowl as them. An argument ensued, and the women went to police and accused her of saying something along the lines of "My Christ died for me, what Muhammad did for you?" She was promptly arrested.

ISIS Slits Throat of 16 Y/O Coptic Christian Boy, Leave Him to Die in Pool of Blood

Apr 21, 2017

Four days after the Palm Sunday bombing of Egyptian churches, Allam Bashay Gabriel found his 16-year-old son, Gamal, with his throat slit and lying in a pool of blood, in Qai village, Upper Egypt, according to World Watch Monitor.

"The way he was killed is the way of Daesh [IS], as they are the only ones who slaughter people like that," Mr. Gabriel told the outlet. "They slaughtered my son because of his faith in Jesus Christ. It's a war on Christians, and all honest people should stand up to those who are waging this war."

Gamal was "loved by all his friends and teachers at school", his father said. "He was a very peaceful and polite person."

He added that he couldn't come up with a "reason why anyone would want to kill my son, as we are simple family and don't have any enemies. We have not been in trouble with anyone and there is no vendetta between us and other families. There also were no valuables that would have attracted criminals."

Christian Pastor Detained in China for Singing 'Jesus Loves You'

April 19, 2017

A Taiwanese Christian pastor was detained for singing the worship song "Jesus Love You" in Zhengzhou, Henan, in China, which officials there have branded as an "illegal religious activity."

Local officials never explained why singing "Jesus Loves You" is now deemed to be an illegal activity, though several Christians across China in recent months have been arrested and even sentenced to prison for participating in religious activities. Five Christians, including a pastor, were sentenced back in February by a court in the northeastern Liaoning province to between three to seven years in prison for purchasing and selling what authorities called "forbidden Christian devotional books."

Christians most persecuted group in the world as vicious attacks grow

April 14, 2017

Nearly 90,000 of the faithful were killed for their beliefs in violent and gruesome attacks last year, according to a report by the Center for Studies on New Religions, making Christians the most persecuted group in the world. While some were killed as part of state-sanctioned persecution, as in places like North Korea, nearly one-third of the Christians who died in 2016 were executed at the hands of Islamic extremists like ISIS.

The study also found that as many as 600 million Christians were prevented from practicing their faith in 2016.

"There are many places on Earth where being a Christian is the most dangerous thing you can be,” Robert Nicholson of the Philos Project told Fox News in January. Some of the more violent attacks on Christians include: terror groups in Nigeria taking out the eyes of Christians before butchering them; a mob of Muslim worshippers in Uganda -- mad over conversion efforts -- entering a church and beating parishioners and raping at least a dozen women; and the numerous bombings of Coptic churches in Egypt.

Graphic: Images and video of Palm Sunday’s Coptic church bombings

APRIL 12, 2017

The number of dead from the Palm Sunday bombings of two Coptic churches in Egypt has climbed to 50: thirty Christians were killed at the St. George Church in Tanta, and 15 Christians and five police officials were killed in St. Mark in Alexandria.

About 120 are seriously injured. Because Islamic suicide bombings are on the rise and we risk becoming desensitized to them, and because one picture is supposedly worth a thousand words, below are several images and a video of the bombings.

WARNING: Some of these are graphic. (Those who can handle them might also wish to see what the December 11, 2016 St. Peter’s bombing in Cairo and the 2011 Islamic suicide bombing of a Baghdad church, in Baghdad look like.) Here’s a brief video — likely to be removed by YouTube soon — of some of the victims of the Tanta attack; note the woman whose left leg appears to have been severed from her body during the blast but remains held together in her pants — as well as the dead little girl.

ISIS murdering Coptic Christians on Egypt's Sinai Peninsula over faith

3/6/17

The Coptic Christian community of Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula is under siege from a growing number of militant Islamists, including ISIS members, who target them for death because of their faith.

While the Christian population of this city has had to flee from threats before, their plight has taken a dark turn in 2017. With a recent call from ISIS for the Copts on the peninsula to be killed; over 100 families had to flee amid attacks and even the executions of their loved ones. “God gave orders to kill every infidel,” one of the militants carrying an AK-47 assault rifle says in the video.

Saied Hakim, 65, and his 45-year-old son Medhat Saied were believed to have been kidnapped by members of the Sinai Province, according to Daily News Egypt. Saied was shot in the head while his son was burned alive.

ISIS' 'Sickening' Genocide against Christians: Why Is the UN Still Silent, Asks ACLJ

February 15, 2017

The American Center for Law and Justice has asked the United Nations Human Rights Council why it continues to be silent and refuses to formally identify Christians and other religious minorities as victims of genocide at the hands of the Islamic State terror group, despite well-documented evidence.

The ACLJ noted that despite filing an urgent testimony nine months ago at the OHCHR explaining the various horrors Christians and other minorities have faced, including beheadings, crucifixions, enslavement, rape, forced conversion, and other forms of violence, a formal recognition of the genocide is still lacking.

"As more ISIS-held regions are liberated in the coming months, more evidence will undoubtedly reveal the indisputable genocidal acts by ISIS against religious minorities. The growing body of evidence demonstrates that the inhuman violence at issue is, in fact, genocide. This evidence is well-documented, and it is sickening," the group said. Read more at

Pakistan: Muslims Rape Woman, Torch House to Grab Father’s Property

27 Jan 2017

A 70-year-old Christian man’s refusal to sell his home in Pakistan prompted Muslim arsonists to burn down the property while everyone inside, including his daughter and four-year-old grandson, were sleeping.

Four Muslim men forced their way into the Christian home and gang-raped the 25-year-old homeowner’s daughter “with threats to leave their family property which was adjacent to home of culprits,” notes Pakistan Christian Post. Rehmat Masih, the owner of the Christian home and father of the rape victim, Sajida, “knocked every door for justice to lodge report [sic] against Muslim rapists but due to their influence and contact in government none was ready to register case against them,” it continues.

“We have done nothing wrong, we have simply continued to practice our faith and that has made us pariahs in the local community. Local Muslims hate Christians they believe we are vermin — rats that should be eradicated,” Rehmat told BPCA.

“My daughter has suffered so much, when I think what these men have done to her my heart fills with sorrow and anger,” he added. “But I know I need not seek vengeance our God will judge these men one day for all they have done. Our God will protect us he will make our lives whole again.”

Egypt: Four Christians slaughtered over the course of 10 days

JANUARY 18, 2017

On January 3, a Muslim man of the Salafi variety crept up behind a Copt, 45, and slit his throat, killing him in Alexandria. The murderer’s reasoning was that the Christian man owned a shop that sold alcohol, which the Salafi deemed “contrary to the shar‘ia [Islamic law] and the religion [Islam].”

A couple of days later, as reported in a January 6 report, a Coptic man, 62, and his wife, 55, were found slaughtered in their home in Monufia, north Egypt. The Christian couple’s throats were slit and their bodies had multiple stab wounds. Nothing was stolen from their apartments; it was a hate crime.

Then, on Friday, January 13, another Christian man, a young surgeon, was found slaughtered in his apartment in Asyut, southern Egypt. He too had stab wounds to his neck, chest, and back. Colleagues of the doctor say he was well mannered and seemed to get along with everyone.

Muslim Man Who Stoned Pastor Embraces Christianity - And is Martyred for His Faith

Jan 16, 2017

A Muslim leader who once violently persecuted Christians embraced Christ after hearing the Gospel at his daughter's wedding - and was martyred for his faith. Christian Aid Mission shares the story of Datu, a devout Muslim man in the Philippines who harbored an overwhelming sense of hatred against Christians.

"During the marriage ceremony, Pastor Bagwis preached Jesus Christ crucified," a ministry director told CAM. "To God be the glory, Datu and his family repented, confessed Christ, believed and accepted Jesus Christ."

As he learned more about Christ, Datu became increasingly bold in sharing the Gospel, angering Muslim relatives, who began persecuting him. However, Datu said he didn't mind the threats; he felt he deserved them for having previously persecuted the church, the director said.

In the last week of December 2015, Datu's son went home to visit his family. The next week, the director received a call from him that Datu had been brutally murdered for his faith. He was found with five stab wounds on his back, and his neck had been cut in the front and back in an apparent attempt at decapitation, "because Muslims there practice beheading if they don't like the person," the director said.

Nepal: Persecuted Christians See Bodies of Dead Loved Ones Dug Up, Dumped on Streets

Jan 6, 2017

A Christian group in Nepal lobbying the government to establish rights for believers says Christians face major hardships in the Hindu-majority nation, such as not being allowed to share the Gospel and even being barred from burying their dead.

Gahatraj told CP that one of the main hardships Christians have faced in the past few years has been getting the right to their own burial grounds. Without a proper graveyard, Christians are forced to take the bodies to nearby forests at night, but there are legal consequences if they are caught. What is more, if Christians bury their loved ones in land where they are not allowed, the local Hindu majorities force them to dig up the remains and relocate them somewhere else.

"When Christians die in Nepal, they have two pains. One is they suffer, they grieve because of their loved ones who are no more; secondly, they have no place to bury their loved ones. If Hindus find Christians buried in their area, they force Christians to dig them out from the graveyard, and bury the bodies in another place," Gahatraj said.

"If Christians refuse to dig out the bodies of their relatives, in some cases Hindu radicals have themselves dug out the bodies, and taken the bodies to the Christian relatives' home, and in other cases have just left the dead bodies on the streets," he explained.

The government is reportedly trying to bring back anti-conversion laws that would turn some Christians into criminals, as it would carry a three- to-six year prison penalty, along with a $500 fine, for anyone found preaching the Gospel. Gahatraj explained that while people in Nepal are allowed to practice their own religion, they are prevented from trying to bring others to their faith.

New Islamic Terror in Nigeria Kills 800 Christians, Muslims; Destroyed 16 Churches

Jan 4, 2017

Although Christians in Nigeria have been heavily targeted by the Boko Haram terror group since 2009, the nomadic Fulani herdsmen have also been growing more violent in their attacks, with the last three months of 2016 resulting in the deaths of hundreds of believers, according to a local bishop.

"Fifty-three villages burned down, 808 people murdered and 57 wounded, 1,422 houses and 16 churches destroyed," Bishop Joseph Bagobiri of the Diocese of Kafanchan told international Catholic charity Aid to the Church in Need, recounting the violence Christians have faced since September. Christian Mother Asia Bibi Spends 7th Christmas on Death Row in Pakistan

December 25th 2016

Pakistani Christian mother of five - Asia Bibi is spending her seventh Christmas in prison after her death sentence appeal was put on hold in October when a judge abruptly recused himself from hearing her case.

Bibi, 45, was sentenced to death in 2010 on allegations of blasphemy after two Muslim co-workers accused her of insulting the Muslim prophet Muhammad, something which she denies.Bibi's blasphemy allegation stems from an altercation in June 2009 that she had with a group of Muslim women in the town of Sheikhupura in the Punjab province. As the women were picking berries, the Muslim women became enraged when Bibi drank from the same water bowl that they women drank out of.

Since Bibi was a Christian, the women considered her unclean. After an argument between the women ensued, the Muslim women went to the police and accused Bibi of saying something along the lines of "My Christ died for me, what did Muhammad do for you?"

Bibi was supposed to find out in October at a final appeal hearing at Pakistan's Supreme Court whether or not she would be executed, but that decision was delayed indefinitely after one of the senior judges, who was set to preside over her appeal, suddenly resigned.

Bombing at Egypt's main Coptic Christian cathedral kills 25

December 11, 2016

A bombing at a chapel adjacent to Egypt's main Coptic Christian cathedral killed 25 people and wounded another 49 during Sunday Mass, one of the deadliest attacks carried out against the religious minority in recent memory and a grim reminder of Egypt's difficult struggle to restore security and stability after nearly six years of turmoil.

Witnesses said the explosion may have been caused by an explosive device planted inside the chapel. A senior church cleric, Bishop Moussa, said at the cathedral that there were unconfirmed reports that a woman posing as a worshipper left a bag in the chapel's women's section before slipping out.

"I found bodies, many of them women, lying on the pews. It was a horrible scene," said cathedral worker Attiya Mahrous, who rushed to the chapel after he heard the blast. His clothes and hands were stained with blood and his hair matted with dust.
"I saw a headless woman being carried away," Mariam Shenouda said as she pounded her chest in grief.

"Everyone was in a state of shock. We were scooping up people's flesh off the floor. There were children. What have they done to deserve this? I wish I had died with them instead of seeing these scenes," she said.

Genocide: the deliberate killing of a large group of people, especially those of a particular ethnic group or nation. Synonyms:mass murder, mass homicide, massacre;

ISIS Tortures Then Crucifies Christian Man, Tells Him: 'If You Love Jesus, You Will Die Like Jesus'

November 27, 2016

A survivor of the Islamic State (ISIS) rampage in Iraq has provided a fresh account of a Christian man's horrific crucifixion by the Islamist extremists. The survivor identified only as Esam told the persecution watchdog World Watch Monitor that ISIS militants brutally crucified his brother-in-law "like Jesus" and forced his wife and children to watch.

"My wife's brother was crucified by Daesh," Esam said, using another name for ISIS. "He was crucified and tortured in front of his wife and children, who were forced to watch. They told him that if he loved Jesus that much, he would die like Jesus."

Esam said the militants tortured his brother-in-law for five hours—6 p.m. up to 11 p.m. They then crucified him, cut his stomach open and shot him, he added.

Ethnic-Religious Cleansing Cited as Herdsmen Kill More Christians in Nigeria

Well-armed Muslim Fulani attack comes 10 days after onslaught in Kaura LGA.

November 28, 2016

Muslim Fulani herdsmen killed at least 12 Christians in southern Kaduna state on Wednesday and Friday (Nov. 23-25) in what Christian leaders call a campaign of ethnic and religious cleansing.

The killings took place in four communities in north-central Nigeria. About 120 homes were looted and destroyed and six church buildings burned down in the Nov. 13 attack on Kaura LGA, Gado said, asserting that ethno-religious cleansing may have intensified after Kaduna officials announced plans to allocate 20,000 hectares of land in southern Kaduna for grazing reserves, beyond that which the herdsmen have already seized and illegally occupied.

“Since the latest onslaught on southern Kaduna began [in May], at least 138 people have been killed, most of them women and children, and at least 1,300 homes and church buildings have been torched,” he said. In Jema’a LGA alone, 102 people have been killed in 25 Christian communities in the past six months, amounting to ethnic and religious cleansing, the president of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Samson Supo Ayokunle, said at a press conference in Abuja last week.

“Is this not Boko Haram in another color?” he said. “I want to plead with the government – this is a moment of truth. It is not about politics, religion or ethnicity. It is about the value that is attached to life.”

Nigeria: Muslims carry out coordinated attacks on Christians in 5 villages, murdering 45

Nov 24, 2016

A SERIES of chilling attacks on by Muslims on Christians in Nigeria has left 45 people dead and others fighting for their lives amidst an increasing Islamic crackdown in the country. The coordinated attacks were executed in five villages across the central belt of the West African nation – an area mostly populated by Christians.

The Muslim Hausa-Fulani herdsmen responsible for the latest wave of killings have already taken over 16 villages – stealing grazing land from Christian communities. Most of the victims in the latest atrocities were women, children and elderly people, who could not escape the gunfire of the attackers.

“They laid siege to the village before they started shooting sporadically and throwing explosives at our homes. They were armed with guns, knives, machetes and explosives. They slaughtered [and] butchered women, children and old people who could not escape.”

North Korean Defectors Say Over 75 Percent of Christians Do Not Survive Persecution

Nov 11, 2016

Human rights groups are reporting on new grim statistics from North Korea and its treatment of religious minorities, including Christians, revealing that more than 75 percent of those subjected to torture, imprisonment, and other punishments do not survive.

UPI reported on statistics from the Database Center for North Korean Human Rights, a South Korean nonprofit organization, which is based on the testimonies of defectors, identifying over 65,000 cases of religious persecution.

Close to 99 percent of 11,370 defectors in the study confirmed that there is no religious freedom under the government of Kim Jong-un, and what is more, over 75 percent of Christians who are punished for their faith do not survive.

No Greater Tribulation Than This

The video shows 21 people dressed in orange jumpsuits forced onto their knees and beheaded, Reuters and Associated Press reported from Cairo.

The video was posted on a social media site.

In the video, the men are made to kneel and one militant addresses the camera in English before the men are simultaneously beheaded.

Thousands of Egyptians have traveled to neighboring Libya in search of jobs since an uprising at home in 2011, despite dangerous conditions.

Before the killings, one of the militants stood with a knife in his hand and said: “Safety for you crusaders is something you can only wish for,” Reuters reported.

ISIS' New Propaganda Video Shows Killings of Christians, Crucifixions, Cubs of the Caliphate Executing Captives

October 30, 2016

A new propaganda video released by Islamic State shows Christians being killed, children being beaten up, women being executed, men being crucified and cubs of the "caliphate" executing captives under its brand of Sharia law. Released on terrorist channels affiliated with the Islamic State, also known as IS, ISIS, ISIL or Daesh, the nearly 40-minute video comes as the Sunni group's militants are fighting a losing battle to protect their Iraqi stronghold Mosul.

The video was apparently released from "Wilayat Raqqah," the IS base in Syria, and shows Sharia law enforcement with clips of beheadings, floggings and executions, including those of Christians and women. Earlier this month, a Syrian woman recounted horrifying details of how IS jihadis killed hundreds of children in her village and executed her son after he refused to deny his faith in Jesus Christ.

"Members of 200 different families were killed right before our eyes," Assaf said, according to an English translation provided by Roads of Success in a YouTube video. "They shot them. We witnessed the shooting of so many. So I told my children [and thought] it was better for us to die in our own home so that our other family members would know our fate. When we got home, one person said to me, ... 'ISIS is killing Christians."

North Koreans Told Christians 'Kill People, Suck Their Blood,' Says Woman Who Started Prison Camp Church

October 21, 2016

A North Korean woman who was forced to work in a prison camp where she started a secret Christian church and won converts for the faith despite immense persecution, has revealed that people living under the regime are taught that Christians kill people and drink their blood.

"Christians were not capable of 'revolutionary acts' and so were enemies," explained Hae Woo about how she was taught to hate Christians prior to her conversion.
"Every form of religion, and especially Christianity, was like opium: addictive and destructive. I heard stories about Christians who went to hospitals, enticed people into cellars, killed them there and sucked the blood out of their bodies so that they could sell it. The thought of it was horrifying to me," she said,

Open Doors CEO David Curry told The Christian Post back in January that precise statistics on the number of Christian prisoners and number of people executed for their faith is hard to get out of North Korea, but estimated that over 70,000 Christians were imprisoned in 2015 alone.

"Documented incidents against Christians include being hung on a cross over a fire, crushed under a steamroller, herded off bridges, and trampled underfoot," the report explained.

Muslim migrant arrested for rape of 90-year-old grandmother returning from church

OCTOBER 19, 2016

The rape of a 90-year-old Christian woman by a Muslim migrant marks a low point for Germany in its ongoing struggle since the flood of about 1.1 million refugees from the Middle East, Africa and Afghanistan. Add this to the Eritrean refugee who was arrested in July for raping a 79-year-old woman in a cemetery, also in Germany, while she was visiting her sister’s grave.

Well, that concern proved to be valid beyond the conceivable. It’s alarming enough that a 90-year-old grandmother was raped while returning from church by a migrant. No one is safe from these barbarians, and their crimes are under-reported, even covered up. The elderly woman had left in the church in the heart of the German city centre on October, 2, when the assailant pushed her into a narrow alley between two pubs.

In the alley, which is usually closed off to the public and used for storing rubbish from the pubs, the perpetrator is said to have demanded money from the woman before sexually assaulting her.

ISIS Crucifies 11 Christian Missionaries, Cuts Fingertips off 12-Y-O in Front of Preacher-Father Before Killing Them

Oct 10, 2015

Islamic State militants in Syria heinously tortured and killed a 12-year-old boy, along with 11 indigenous Christian missionaries, after they refused to leave their homeland or renounce Christ.

According to the Virginia-based Christian Aid Mission, a group that has been in contact with the slain missionaries' director, all 12 victims were captured on Aug. 7 in a village on the outskirts of Aleppo.

Three weeks later, IS militants questioned the captives about whether they converted from Islam when they became Christians, an offense that is punishable by death under the Islamic State's twisted legal code. The Christian captives were honest and admitted that they were once Muslims.

The IS jihadis demanded the captives reconvert to Islam, but the Christians asserted that they would never renounce their love for Christ...

Pakistani Christian Girl Kidnapped, Raped After Family Refused to Convert to Islam

Oct 4, 2016

A Pakistani Christian family was tied up and beaten by a group of Muslims who stormed their home last month looking to force the family to convert to Islam. But when the family refused to renounce their faith, their youngest daughter was abducted, raped and has yet to return home. On the night of Sept. 15, a group of six Muslim men and a Muslim woman stormed the family's home with guns, sticks and metal rods and severely beat members of the Christian family.

The group of intruders hoped that the family's pain and suffering would cause them to reconsider their prior refusals to convert to Islam. Despite the pain, the family again refused to deny Christ and convert to Islam. After the family refused to convert, the Muslims grew enraged and tied up and blindfolded all but two of the family members.

As the family consists of six daughters and two sons, the Muslims dragged the family's 17-year-old daughter, Jameela, and 20-year-old son, Arif, and threw them into the back of a van parked outside of the home. Arif explained that when they arrived at the mansion, they were both tortured separately. Despite the torture, Arif again refused to convert to Islam. While he could hear the screams of his sister, one of the captors told Arif that other Muslim men were taking turns raping his sister and that all he had to do to save his her was embrace Islam. However, he again refused to renounce Christ.

Pakistan: Muslims rape and murder Christian boy, police register death as natural and not suspicious

SEPTEMBER 17, 2016

“The brutal nature of the crimes inflicted on Christians in Pakistan is the product of their vulnerability and the warped minds that breed in the nation. The levels of rape, sodomy and murder in Pakistan are reaching unprecedented levels. Christians and other minorities are a natural target as they are disenfranchised by the country’s laws and statutes, which confer second-class citizenship upon them.”

A 14-year-old Christian boy was murdered and his dead body was left hanging in a tree in a place called Gosh Nagar, Faisalabad. Zeeshan Masih had been visiting his uncle’s cattle farm at Shreejan Wala Dhera and gone out to buy a soft drink on the 23rd of August 2016, but never returned home. He was later found hanging dead from the branch of tree only a short distance from where his uncle’s buffaloes would go out to graze.

Kanwal Amar Lead reporter for the British Pakistani Christian Association, said:
“This family are deeply traumatised. They have lost a son to an extremely heinous crime and the chance for them to get justice is limited. The manner in which police officers have attempted to camouflage this crime has hurt and angered them. They are calling for an independent inquiry into the handling of their son’s death.”

Will blow up every church, kill all Christians: Boko Haram's new leader, announced by ISIS

The ISIS published an interview with Abu Musab al-Barnawi, the new leader of Boko Haram where al-Barnawai said that Christians were seeking to Christianize the society. He said they would respond by blowing up every church, and killing all Christians.

August 4, 2016

The interview with al-Barnawi indicates a major shift in strategy for the Nigerian extremists, who have killed many more Muslims than Christians in attacks in mosques with suicide bombers and gunmen. There have also been attacks on crowded marketplaces in predominantly Muslim areas and the killings and kidnappings of school children. The targeting of students accounts for its nickname Boko Haram, which means Western education is sinful or forbidden.

"They strongly seek to Christianize the society. ... They exploit the condition of those who are displaced under the raging war, providing them with food and shelter and then Christianizing their children," SITE Intelligence quotes the new leader as saying. Al-Barnawi says the militants will respond to that threat by "booby-trapping and blowing up every church that we are able to reach, and killing all of those (Christians) who we find from the citizens of the cross."

Former ISIS Fighter Says Terror Group 'Executes Christians on the Spot, Mutilates Dead Bodies'

July 7, 2016

"After a month, we understood the reality of what was happening. It was worse than tyranny of the government forces," he said. "They were extremely brutal, killing women and the elderly who did not obey them. They abused and mutilated their dead bodies.

One thing that has been proven throughout IS' rule in Syria and Iraq over the last two years is that the jihadis don't just like to kill religious minorities, they like to make horrific examples of them and also other Muslims who violate their strict Islamic law or undermine the organization's authority.

"They cut up the corpses, tied them to the back of the cars and dragged them along," Zurab detailed, adding that Christians don't stand a chance under IS' rule. "They would not even talk to Christians, Christians would be killed on the spot," he asserted. "They would find them and publicly execute them. I witnessed many executions."

July 12, 2016

A Christian mother of seven was hacked to death by suspected Muslim radicals in Nigeria and her mutilated body was discovered in a pool of blood along with a Bible and megaphone she used to preach every morning. According to local reports, 41-year-old Eunice Olawale, a pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of Nigeria and an evangelist, was murdered in the early morning hours on Saturday while she was out evangelizing near Nigeria's capital of Abuja.

Christians facing extinction in Iraq at the hands of jihadist warriors

July 5, 2016

The Christian population in Iraq has now diminished to an alarming 50,000 to 250,000, compared with 1.4 million in 2003. They were either massacred by jihadists or abducted.
Christians have faced being forced to convert to Islam, pay a high living tax (jizya, mandated in the Qur’an) to the Islamic State, or abandon their ancestral homes. Many were enslaved or murdered.

Reverend Canon Andrew White, (aka “The Vicar of Baghdad”) known for his love of humanity, stated of Islamic State jihadists: “When I invited ISIL to dinner they said, ‘Yes, we’ll come, but we’ll chop off your head.’ Rather kind of them to warn me.”

3 Christian Missionaries Go Missing in Middle East after Surviving Brutal Beating by Terrorists with Iron Pipes

June 17, 2016

The ministry's website explains that Samuel, 29, James, 30, and Stephan, 32, who are all Christian converts from Islam, were hospitalized on Sunday after being ambushed by Muslim extremists as they were preaching to a man they met on their way home from prayer service.

As evangelism and apostasy are both punishable by death in some regions of the Middle East, the ministry reports that the militants shouted "Allahu Akbar" and yelled "kill them" as they beat the preachers with iron pipes and desecrated their Bibles.

Fortunately, passersby on a bus stopped and chased off the radicals and transported the men to a nearby hospital. James, the evangelist, was reported as being in critical condition. While in the hospital, the three missionaries said they sensed they were being watched "with a cruel intention" and asked the doctors to discharge them.

The disappearance of the three men is not the first time Bibles for Mideast missionaries have gone missing. In April, a 43-year-old Indian Christian preacher named Reji Joseph, who voluntarily ministered for Bibles for Mideast, went missing along with three co-workers in Tripoli, Kenya.

Although the ministry is concerned about their abducted missionaries, the organization tells concerned Christians that death is not something that should be feared.

Muslim Fulani herdsmen killed three Christians in their home in the early hours of Tuesday (May 31) in Kaduna state, days after herdsmen attacked another area Christian with machetes, area sources said. The armed herdsmen attacked Ninte village, Jema’a Local Government Area in the north-central state of Kaduna, at about 2 a.m. and burned a pastor’s house and those of others, a survivor told Morning Star News.

Zakka Kagoma, 40, and two other Christians yet to be identified were killed in their house where they were sleeping, said Naomi Sali of neighboring Andaha, one of hundreds of Christians from 14 villages who fled the area. A Jema’a LGA official confirmed the attack but said two persons were killed.

Sali, 45, and other residents escaped into the bushes, where she passed the rest of the night before finding her way to Jos, Plateau state to take refuge. “There were gunshots throughout the night as we hid in the bushes,” she said. “They burned down houses, and set fire to the house of the pastor of ECWA

“A Christian whose name is Ango was returning from his farm at about 5 p.m. when he was ambushed and attacked by a band of three Fulani Herdsmen,” she said. “Ango was pursued by three sons of the Ardo [Fulani leader] in the area. They captured him and dragged him to the bush close to a stream, where they cut him with machetes. He was left there unconscious as they thought he was dead.”

Christian Man Hacked to Death by ISIS in Bangladesh After Sunday Prayers

June 6, 2016

The minority Christian community in northwest Bangladesh is mourning the brutal killing of a local Christian man who served as a gardener at a church, which has been claimed by the Islamic State terror group.

"Sunil Gomes was hacked to death at his grocery store just near a church at Bonpara village. "He attended Sunday prayers at my church and then went to his grocery store. The next thing we know he was hacked to death. I can't imagine how anyone can kill such an innocent man," Rebeiro said.

ISIS' Genocide Against Christians Escalates in Iraq, Syria;

May 26, 2016

In a letter thanking U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry for declaring the massacre against Christians in Iraq and Syria a genocide, the ACLJ called on the U.S. to take several steps and advance the case at the U.N.

In its letter, the ACLJ describes how IS has killed both Christians and Yazidis by the thousands, and subjected thousands more to rape and enslavement, targeting their respective religions, and destroying their places of worship, livelihood, and homes. The letter warns that the Christian population is rapidly decreasing in both Iraq and Syria, with followers of Christ often forced to choose between converting to Islam, paying a high protection tax called jizya, fleeing their ancient homelands, or facing death.

Earlier in May, the U.N. Secretary-General's Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq, Jan Kubis, submitted a briefing to the Security Council condemning "in the strongest possible terms the continued killings, kidnapping, rape and torture of Iraqis by ISIL, which may constitute crimes against humanity, war crimes and even genocide."

Baptist Pastor Poisoned to Death in Eastern Uganda

Missing Muslim villager suspected.

May 20, 2016

A Muslim villager in eastern Uganda is suspected in the poisoning death of a pastor on Sunday .

Micah Byamukama, pastor of Kasecha Baptist Church in Kasecha village, Kibuku District, died at Kabweri Health Centre at 9 p.m. after ingesting an insecticide that Ahmed Mupere put into his food that evening, area sources said. He was 61.
Mupere was said to be upset with Pastor Byamukama, a fervent evangelist, after public discussions in which the pastor challenged his belief in Jinn, supernatural creatures in early Arabic mythology and later Islamic theology. The pastor had asserted that “the true God is the God of the Lord Jesus Christ, who conquered the power of Satan including the Islamic Jinn,” an area source said.

Wealthy Muslim Man Shoots 2-Year-Old Christian Boy in Head after Father Refuses to Work for Free

May 11, 2016|

A 2-year-old boy was shot and killed by a wealthy Muslim landowner in Nazimabad, Pakistan, who was angry at his father for refusing to work at his home without pay.
Fides News Agency reported on Wednesday that the alleged murderer, Haji Rasheed, refused to pay Christian worker Samsoon Masih the money he owed him for painting his house. A dispute then arose in which Masih said he would no longer work in Rasheed's house.

Enraged, the landowner and his son, Bahsrat, then allegedly broke into the Christian man's house and started shooting indiscriminately. While Masih and his father were only injured, a bullet struck his 2-year-old son, Ayaan, killing him instantly.

'Life is horrible': Syria's Christians fear total Genocide

May 10, 2016

The plight of Christians in Raqqa is the eye of a storm that threatens to engulf all of the embattled nation whose ties to Christianity are as old as the faith itself. Terror, bombings and systematic persecution designated as genocide by the U.S. has left the close-knit community of Syrian Christians fearing for their future.

“We are facing terrorist action in the whole geography of Syria,” the Rev. Ibrahim Nseir, pastor of the National Evangelical Synod of Syria and Lebanon and the Presbyterian Church in Aleppo, told FoxNews.com from the conflict-torn city. “They are destroying our churches, killing and kidnapping Christians, stealing our homes and our businesses.”

Amid the conflict, Christian archbishops, nuns, clerics and church leaders have been systematically kidnapped and executed, suicide bombers have struck at Christmas celebrations and many of the faith’s most sacred sites and treasures haven been looted or destroyed. The castle of Krak des Chevaliers, just west of Homs, which was the fortress for the Knights Hospitaller during the Crusades, and the famed Catholic Monastery of St. Elian, home to a 5th-century tomb, are among the notable sites that have been ravaged.

Would this be defined as"great tribulation" or "God's Wrath"?

This Section is posted for the remembrance of hundreds of thousands of believers who have been slain, tortured, mutilated, crucified, raped, sold into sex slavery, starved to death, burned alive, and every other evil device satan has thrown to extinguish the message of a Risen Savior who IS the ONLY WAY, TRUTH, LIFE, and HOPE of humanity.

Throughout the history of Christianity, those who have stood up for their faith in Yeshua (Jesus) have given all, denied self, and have laid down their lives for the testimony of truth.

The Bible attest to those faithful:

" Who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again. And others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.

Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawed in two, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented-- of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth.

And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise, God having provided something better for us"  They are waiting for city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God." (Hebrews 11:10,33)

These believers were so totally convinced of God's Promises,  "These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth... But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them."   (Hebrews 11:13,16)

According to those who suffered the most, they tell us that it is a necessary element to refine those who believe. The Apostle Paul exhorted "them to continue in the faith, and saying, "We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God." (Acts 14:22)

Jesus again admonishes His Followers with a warning and a promise:  "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)

God needs His faithful servants to be brave and testify in the midst of adversity. It is written in the coming days:

"Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever." ( Daniel 12:3)

Contrary to popular belief, we must be here as "Light", "Salt", and "Co-workers" with Jesus. Jesus clearly expressed His desire for those who would become His followers:

"I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one." ( John 17:15 )

Yes - in these coming days God will raise up His Faithful: " And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death." (Revelation 12:11)

Some will pay the ultimate price: "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My Name's Sake." (Matthew 24:9)

In the Name of their God :  " They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service."

Jesus Himself promises:  "Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life." (Revelation 2:10)

According to the Prophet Daniel, there will be teachers who understand the depth of the Judgment hour message :

" the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits. And those of the people who understand shall instruct many; yet for many days they shall fall by sword and flame, by captivity and plundering. Now when they fall, they shall be aided with a little help; but many shall join with them by intrigue. And some of those of understanding shall fall, to refine them, purify them, and make them white, until the time of the end; because it is still for the appointed time." (Daniel 11:32-35)

The Devil is being "restrained" until he will be taken out of the way:  "And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved."

For the brave Brothers and Sisters who have given up their lives to testify of the love of Jesus to others, those who didn't run or back down, will receive a GREAT REWARD from our Savior's Hand:

" I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!"

All the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying: "Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom, Thanksgiving and honor and power and might, Be to our God forever and ever. Amen."

Then one of the elders answered asked, "Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?"

And I said to him, "Sir, you know." So he said to me, "These are the ones who COME OUT OF THE GREAT TRIBULATION, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them.

They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."(Revelation 7:9-17)

Pray for our extended family in Jesus who UNDERSTAND and are IN GREAT TRIBULATION:

Hindu Extremists in Uttar Pradesh, India Torture Christian Convert

May 6, 2016

In the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, Hindu extremists in Tewardih, Varanasi who have long insisted that a 30-year-old convert from Hinduism, Joginder Gold, stop worshipping Christ took him to a farm house on April 9 and tortured him.

“They tied me upside down on a tree and started verbally abusing me for my faith in Christ and started to beat me on the soles of my feet.” One of the assailants beat Gold for three hours and then inserted a stick into his mouth while two others sat on his chest. During the assault, the Christian vomited blood three times before losing consciousness.

Thinking that he had died, the radical Hindus put Gold in a shallow pit and covered him with hay and leaves, an area church leader said. The man lay on a Charpoy [traditional woven] bed and thereafter put the bed out on the road, and the villagers gathered up to see Joginder lying almost dead on the bed.

“The injuries he suffered on the soles of his feet were so severe that they affected the veins in his head, and he suffered severe head pain along with severe pain in his chest, thigh, arm, buttock, upper back and left calf,” Pastor David told Morning Star News.

It's Genocide; Now American, Middle Eastern Christians Must Unite

April 14, 2016

Last month, the United States formally recognized that a genocide against Middle Eastern Christians and other minorities is taking place at the hands of ISIS in Iraq and Syria. What next?

While steps must be taken to stop future atrocities from occurring, provide aid to those whose lives have been upended, and to plan for their future, we must also recognize and nurture the solidarity that we as American Christians share with our brothers and sisters overseas.

To advocate for them we must love them. And to love them we must know them. Without this enriched relationship being developed over the long term, advocacy will languish. Just as importantly, we will miss the opportunity for spiritual participation in their suffering as members of the Body of Christ, and the joyful solidarity that results.

To this end, the Family Research Council and partnering organizations Open Doors, The Voice of the Martyrs, Institute of Religion and Democracy, In Defense of Christians, Christian Solidarity Worldwide-USA, the 21st Century Wilberforce Initiative, and International Christian Concern are calling on churches across America to observe April 17, 2016 as Stand with the Persecuted Sunday.

During services that day, nearly 40,000 churches in the United States are being asked to take a few minutes to stand with believers across this nation and around the world by:

1. praying for the persecuted (and for the conversion of the persecutors)

2. participating in practical ministry to brothers and sisters overseas

3. promoting public policy that protects the persecuted, such as standing for their right to religious freedom, and for a secure home for them and their posterity.

Prayer not only benefits the persecuted; it benefits us, and is used by God to strengthen our (and their) relationship with Him. It naturally leads to practical ministry, as our hearts are drawn to our brothers and sisters. It also leads us to want to see that fellow believers are protected overseas.

Christian girl from Pakistan keeps faith in Jesus despite hellish experience under ISIS captivity

09 April 2016

She said her personal hell began when she and her family were kidnapped by the ISIS militants while they were sleeping in an undisclosed place in the Middle East last year. She said the armed men brutally beat her and her entire family and threatened to kill them if they shouted for help.

"Then, the kidnappers dragged me from my mother's lap to their car in the street. My eyes and mouth were covered with a piece of cloth and they took me to [an] unknown place where five of them raped me in front of each other, taking turns," Komal said.

"Almost for two months they beat me every day for nothing and did not give [me] enough food to eat," she said. But that was not yet the worst experience she suffered. Komal said the worst came when she found out that she had been impregnated by one of her rapists. The culprit then forced her to change her religion from Christianity to Islam so that he could marry her.

Her husband then continued raping her for the next two months. Not content in humiliating her, the ISIS brute then forced her to become a prostitute, which Komal said was her worst agony of all: "I felt like dying every day... I was forced into prostitution. He even hired a watch-woman to keep an eye on me almost round the clock." But despite the sickening pain and abject humiliation, Komal said she never gave up her faith in Jesus Christ. She said she never lost hope that someday God would rescue her and "get me out of this hell."

God finally answered her prayers in February this year when she was presented with the perfect opportunity to escape. Her family also managed to escape from ISIS captivity and now they're back together again, trying to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives.

Inconvenient Genocide

"Although precise data is hard to come by, it is clear that thousands of Christians have been slaughtered. Thousands of Christian women and girls have been sold as sex slaves in ISIS slave markets, subjected to continuous, violent rape and beatings. Nuns and priests have been enslaved, crucified, mutilated, kidnapped and held for ransom, as have lay members of Christian communities. Christians have been burned alive."

U.S. at Easter: When Christians Are Slaughtered, Look the Other Way

Muslims Slaughter Over 10,000 Christians and Destroy 13,000 Churches in Nigeria

March 27, 2016

What Christians in Nigeria are experiencing is a live snapshot of what millions of Christians and other non-Muslims have experienced since the seventh century, when Islam "migrated" to their borders: violence, persecution, enslavement, and the destruction of churches.

In addition, "1.3 million Christians have become internally displaced or forced to relocate elsewhere," and "13,000 churches have been closed or destroyed altogether." Countless "thousands of Christian businesses, houses and other property have been destroyed."

Beheadings, imprisonment made 2015 worst year for Christian persecution, report finds

March 08, 2016

Beheadings, imprisonment and eviction from ancestral homelands made 2015 the worst year on record for persecution of Christians, with North Korea topping a list of 10 otherwise Muslim nations as the most dangerous places for followers of the Gospel, according to a new report.

Islamic extremism and authoritarian governments combined to make last year the worst in modern history for Christians around the world, according to Open Doors USA. The trend spiked upward in the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia, with thousands of Christians killed or imprisoned, and even more chased from their homes.

"Islamic extremism continues to be the primary driving force behind the expansion of persecution,” said Open Doors President and CEO David Curry. “It is no longer just a Christian problem, but a global problem that must be addressed.”

"The report confirms what we have seen develop in these countries -- a rise in Islamic extremism that tragically targets minority religions -- especially Christians,” said Jay Sekulow, chief council for the American Center for Law and Justice. “The brutality is unspeakable, with nearly 1 million Christians being slaughtered or displaced in the Middle East.”

Bombed, Burned, and Urinated On: Churches under Islam

March 2, 2016

"A group of Muslim men went into a Christian district, abducted a 7-year-old boy, and took turns gang-raping him before finally strangling him to death with a rope. Locals found the child's body the next day dumped in a field: "[T]he body was sent for post-mortem examination which revealed that the 7-year-old was killed after being brutally raped," a local said.

Muslims in a car accosted three Christian girls walking home from work. They sexually harassed them, saying "Christian girls are only meant for one thing, the pleasure of Muslim men." When the girls tried to run away, the Muslims chased them down in their car and ran them over, killing one 17-year-old girl.

A Christian man was brutally tortured to death by police in an attempt to get him to confess to stealing from his Muslim employer. Khurram, the son of Liaqat Masih, the 47-year-old slain Christian, was also tortured by police for the same reason; he shared his eyewitness testimony of the beating his father endured before expiring. Police stripped him naked, made him stand on a chair, tied his hands behind his back, and hung him from the ceiling, causing Liaqat's shoulders to become dislocated.

Each time the captive's feet hit the floor, a police officer would pull the rope to lift him up again and continued applying tension to his arms and dislocated shoulders. Because both Khurram and Liaqat adamantly maintained their innocence during the ordeal, the officers continued to beat his tied-up father with wooden logs until he eventually died. About an hour into the beating, the guards noticed that Liaqat was no longer breathing."

ISIS Burns Christians Alive in Locked Caskets, Escaped Prisoner Reveals

January 6, 2016

An Iraqi soldier who escaped from an Islamic State prison has described the terror group's brutal torture of Christians, many of whom died during the torture.

"They tortured the [expletive] out of the Christians and some died in the process," Sergeant Karam Saad of the Iraqi military, who was held captive in June 2014, told Independent Journal.

"They would take some and lock them in a kind of casket, and set it on fire from the inside," he added. "I only spent three nights in prison. During that time, I paid attention to how many guards were on duty and any signs of weaker security."

" I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. And they cried with a loud voice, saying, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?"

Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed." (Revelation 6:9-11)
